>>
The one actually designed from the beginning for 7.62x25.
>>
Tokarev because the CZ-52 looks gay.
>>
Tokarev-
>Take a FN1903
>Give it a thumb release, new caliber, and a nifty external hammer pack
CZ52-
>take a 20 year old pistol
>make it worse in every way
>>
What is exactly wrong with the cz 52 don't the czechs make awsom guns?
>>
>>28082280
It. Looks. Fucking. Gay.
>>
>>28082280
Yup, nothing wrong with it.

Spaceguns! Also the history behind the czech cold war weapons is great.
>>
>>28082313
What kind of pistol looks good to you, anon?
>>
>>28082313
It is based off the makorav design
>>
>>28082342
Citation needed.
>>
>>28082313
I think the look is the only good thing about it.

The problems with the CZ52, by someone who owns one.

-retaining pin for the roller locker system is a weak point for the chamber
-czechs used shit cast steel in the firing pins. dry firing the pistol causes the pins to work harden and break. not an issue if you get a new pin made by machining tool steel billet.
-sear/safety can possibly wear to the point where the decocker is a second trigger.
-original rollers are too soft. they can get out of round and cause issues. can get new rollers made from better metal.
-chamber could probably be thicker overall. Since pistol was originally designed for 9x19.

So there is a higher change than the TT, of the pistol exploding or going off accidentally. Though explosion risk can not be that high. Since the Czechs made the hottest tokarev ammo, not county that evil 10 53 Bulgarian stuff.

It was originally designed for 9mm, and the conversion to 7.62x25 didn't lend itself too well to the design. The chamber walls are way too thin for a high pressure cartridge like 7.62 Tokarev, for example. It also took a step back in some regards to the pistol it was based off of, like the magazine release.

pewpewpew laser gun weeeeeOHHH MY GOD MY HAND I KNEW I SHOULDN'T HAVE TRUSTED THAT SHITTY BULGARIAN AMMO JIMMY AT BIG 5 SOLD ME FOR A DOLLLAR OH FUCK
>>
>>28082476
Don't use 10 53 ammo.
>>
isn't that 10 53 ammo likely a batch of proof-loads that got dumped on the country. it's okay guys it's meant for them ESS EM GEEES

CZ52 is a terrible gun for the price. Do not buy. Get a tokarev it is a much better gun. The CZ52 was literally the most I've ever been unhappy with a gun.
>>
>>28082280

It looks like shit, it wasn't designed for the 7.62x25 and you have to replace about 3 parts to make it safe and functional.

Tokarev all the way.
>>
>>28082530
I paid $170 for my CZ52. Put maybe another $100 into it with new firing pin, two more magazines, new rollers. Then 1600 rounds of 1954 Bulgarian ammo.

I'm CC-ing it as my anti jihadi gun. Just in case of soft armor.

When I was young I got a CZ52 when I was just getting into firearms, saw it at a gun show, impulse buy, overpaid for it. I went out and shot it, fired about 5 rds through it, and then it loaded a round into the chamber that could not be removed. So there I was with this POS with a loaded round in it that I couldn't get out no matter how hard I tried to charge the weapon. I had to take it to the gunsmith who was able to fix the issue, he explained it to me (can't remember, maybe someone here knows what I'm talking about?) and basically told me the gun is an inherit POS, but said it should be good to fire again.
>no thanks
been in a box ever since (10+ years), I have no desire to ever shoot it again and can't wait to sell it, but I'm too lazy go through the trouble of selling it as a C&R.
Every time I see that gun, I look at it in utter disgust.
>>
What are some pros of the tokarev?
>>
>>28082812
all I know is that the 10 53 ammo from Bulgaria should not be fired and only used to reload into new ammo with properly measured powder.
>>
>>28082909
still cheap. tougher than cz52. WWII slavaboo fantasy gun. I like them because they are big steel guns that fire a fun cartridge. If you want a practical slavaboo gun get a makarov.
>>
>>28082909
less likely to explode than the CZ52. Shoots 7.62x25. looks neat.

>>28082815
was it romanian ammo? the bullets tend to be out of spec and too large.
>>
>>28082185
The czech gun is better than the romanian gun.
>>
>>28082939
No idea what kind of ammo it was, so maybe that was it. Maybe I should have been blaming the ammo this whole time.
>>
Which tokarev is better then the yugo version or the Romanian version??
>>
If you really want to shoot Tokarev.

Get a 38 super 1911.
Get tokarev 1911 barrel from J&G.
Get a new 25-26 pound main spring
>>
>>28082949
go get a box of wolf

I was more influenced by Hong Kong action movies than WWII Slav nostalgia
Great gun, just kinda annoying having to order the ammo

Never pay more than $250 for a really pristine CZ52. Under $200 for one such as you linked.
