Dumb buddy of mine got a Glock 19 for a carry gun, put about 250 rounds through it, then decided it wasn't for him.
Fast forward a year, just bought it off him on the cheap cheap.
Problem: He didn't clean it after putting those rounds through it and it's been sitting with residue/carbon and building up dust since.
Gave it a good cleaning with the rest of the Hoppe's I had left, but idk if that was enough.
Anything else I can do to deep clean the bitch?

I put thousands of rounds downrange with my AR and haven't cleaned it in probably two years.
just scrub it with some RemOil , dry it out and wipe it down (brush if you want to get anything caked on), bore brush and patches down the barrel if you really feel like it, then shoot it again.
Honestly you don't have to worry about it.

Nice dubs. I doubt that the residue in the barrel is corrosive enough to matter. Run some hoppes-soaked patches and a few dry ones through the barrel. Follow with an oil patch and another dry patch. Unless your buddy decided to store it in a fish tank, everything should be alright.

Wrap a patch around a worn brush and use it to 'scrub' the bore. You'll pull out a ton of crud.
There's gonna be a lot of carbon and copper residue embedded in the bore metal. Each time you clean off a layer of residue, you're revealing another underneath, removing it, and so forth. It's also possible you have a carbon ring of some sort in the bore, and that's what is showing up on your wet passes.
If you have access to an ultrasonic cleaner, toss it in the tank for a few cycles and see if it loosens it up any. Else wise, you might try soaking a Hoppes filled barrel overnight.
I also would recommend alternating between solvents, if there's really stubborn grime.
Hoppes is an old standby but you might give these other cleaners a shot:

> Gunslick Foaming Bore Cleaner (Also removes copper, and turns blue doing so!)

Once clean, use something like G96, Breakfree, Weaponshield, FP10, etc. (Pretty much anything except Rem-Oil) and you're all set
