It's a more "eye-pleasing" to not see the regular triangular handguard before the suppressor.
It isn't about it being ribbed, it is the cylindrical shape of the ribbed handguards that matches a suppressor's shape, in turn making it more aesthetic and "smooth" in my eyes.
The same reason the only "dressed up" MP5 without ribs that I like is this one >>28069358
but even that one has a cylindrical handguard, helping to better blend the angles of the boxy receiver to the smooth contours of a can.
