Why are there not plates on at least one of the sides to protect officers?
As the design is it can only provide protection while facing towards the enemy, and since the vehichle only drives forwards(/backwards?), it means you have to open yourself up to fire when moving side to side.
I want to know more about the tactical stick they used

Somewhere on YT is a video of a Guy who made one of those JLGs into a human slingshot going over a very small grade change. Being tied off, below armor plate just turns you into a dangling target. It's old, parts aren't as available anymore for one, it's cheaper to replace parts on a Bearcat because it's an up-armored Ford. Less maneuverable, the turn radius, size and fuel consumption are lower than the Bearcat. As for the "aggressive" look, they both look aggressive, most people would still look at a both and think "whats a military/HMMWV TANK etc. doing in my city?"
