The jackhammer isn't actually all that bad, especially for a prototype that never got to see the freedoms and the progress that full production would provide. It managed over 50,000 continuous rounds with no failures, I cannot imagine how well it might do if one were to reconsider the project with modern ideas.
For myself I'd have to take some soviet Bakelite magic.
