There's a guy selling a uaz 469 for ~800 dollars
What's the catch /k/?
Probably no engine, steering, brakes besides emergency, just an uaz that rolls.
>>28056510
it's actually 8000 though op
>>28056532
So a standard issue uaz?
>>28056532
This is me.
Its $8,000 so nothing is wrong, thats a reasonable price for any Jeep
>>28056510
The catch is you have to get extra parts from Eastern Europe
>>28056510
The catch is that if you buy it you're stuck with a Uaz.
>>28056510
The catch is that it $8000 and not $800
>>28056532
If you can read spanish it says it has brakes and a ford engine, I imagine not having the original engine lowers the price a bit, but I doubt the guy is lying about the engine and brake condition

>>28056579
It's 8000 pesos, anons
>>28056510
It's $8,000 and it's in Buenos Aires.
Also you can't really go to NAPA and get parts for these.
>>28056638
I'm from buenos aires though
>>28056653
And I say kill em all
catch is, its an old piece of shit with 70 horse power engine

I want to break it
>>28056691
Kek
>>28056614
>new engine
I'd be prepared to wrestle a bit with the parts if that is the case, if you know your cars or have enough beer to pay a friend who knows cars enough to fix issues I'd go for it.
>>28056927
What do you mean?
>>28057077
Sometimes engine replacements can get a bit fuckey if the person doesn't know what they're doing, you really should ask /o/ for help.
>>28057109
Might as well give it a try, what's the worst that could happen?
>>28056510
They're horrible vehicles to drive.
>>28056510
>What's the catch
It's an old fucking UAZ
Better off with an ex-army land rover.
>>28057188
it's a total piece of shit and you waste 8000 pesos, which is probably about 2000 american dollars.
>>28057579
>which is probably about 2000 american dollars.
kek, not fucking even
I suddenly have an urge to buy a Vietnam-era jeep and mount a Pig on it and drive around Liberal Asheville with it...
>>28057614
well in his defense he said hes from buenos aires so id expect their peso to not be as trash as the mexican peso
>>28057817
Put it in yourself.
It really is like $800 USD with Argentine pesos.
Did you forget about those sorry fucks getting their warship impounded by creditors?
>>28056510
Not road legal.
>>28056691
>>28056691
You mother fucker.
I was drinking.
>>28056691
People typically make one right choice a day, and you just made one.
>>28056510
>$8,000 for a motherfucking UAZ
>they're literally $800 in Europe
>>28058280
>I didn't read the thread.

Seriously speaking (former UAZ driver speaking), 8000$ is an OK prise for a new or slightly used 469. The catch is, that what you are buying is an UAZ. Jeep, designed with military use by rookie conscript drivers/mechanics in mind. It is easy to fix (if you got parts and some minimum skills), it got awesome offroad capabilities, despite quite humble engine. It works even on worst fuel types available. However, you MUST have skills to fix it and you have to like the process of tinkering with your car. Othervise, UAZ is a huge pain in the ass. It rusts. It sucks dirt with every seam available. It is freaking cold in winter and pretty hot in summer (with tent up). It brokes at some surprisingly stupid situations and even more stupid places. It hogs fuel like a truck (14 liters at 100 km is ok for 469 with some efforts you can get this number down to 11 liters)
So, if you like such challenge to your skill - buy UAZ and it will get you almost anywhere you name it. If you want a car, that will start after simple turn of the ignition key and get you from point A to point B, no extra maintenance required... Forget UAZ as a worst nightmare.
