Looks a hell of a lot like a S&W Model 64 with a 3" barrel. Google it. It can't be the 65. Different shape and butt. Not beefy enough. It's chambered in .38 Special.

It's an old Smith and Wesson. You can tell by the absence of the unnecessary internal locking mechanism. The ammo looks like 38 special, but it could also be 357 magnum. The frame is small, probably a J or K frame. The finish looks like nickel, but it may be stainless steel.

It's an older S&W judging from the apparent lack of a lock, I'd recommend going to S&W's site and using their find a gun feature. Any particular reason why you didn't just open the S&W forums and find the post?
