Lets have a discussion on hearing protection
What do you use?
>>
Whut? Huh?
Muffs and 32dB foam plugs.
Every time.
I havn't got much left and it pretty much sucks.
>>
>>28045424
Ear plugs and ear muffs too. Makes a nugget sound about as loud as a bb gun.
>>
I just use swimming ear plugs but I am looking at those active noise canceling ones
>>
sport ears cause I'm a giant faggot
>>
>>28045424
plugs and cans for everything north of a Crosman 760. every time.

ears don't fix themselves.
>>
WHAT?! HEARING PROTECTION IS FOR FAGGOTS. WHAT'D YOU SAY ABOUT THE JEWS?!
>>
>hunting
Nothing.
>shooting my friends' and my guns
Reusable ear plugs.
>at the range with Fudd McFudderson and his 7mm Rem Mag-shooting pardners
Reusable ear plugs + Beretta muffs.

WHAT ABOUT MY TEARING PROJECTIONS?
>>
>>28045542

good ol' cheap howie leights when I'm with other people and actually want to hear them.

this type of earplug when I'm by myself

headphones offer objectively better practical protection but they restrict what kind of hats I can wear

plus these earplugs can hang around the next comfortably, while there are very few good places to put tight headphones when you don't want to wear them
>>
Does anyone have active muffs?
I am thinking about buying some
Caldwell Low Profile E-Max Electronic Ear Muffs
but I am concerned about their effectiveness and how big they are (I am a giant)

Pro tip: If you don't use hearing protection eventually even the loudest gunfire will be as quite as a purring kitten.

Whats the best way to wear ear pro with a boonie hat?
>inb4 plugs
I like to hear things and the desert sucks.
>>
>>28045424
Howard leight l3 great except for shouldering a rifle.

The l.0f are sweet

I don't into electronics they're overrated, also i always double up
>>
My Howard Leights went missing a couple weeks ago. I think one of the kids accidentally them into the recycling bin. Since they were in the garage after I mowed the lawn and probably resting on top of the recycling bin.
>>
>>28045535
Anon why are you shooting your friends?
>>
>>28047224
Obviously he is Dick Cheney.
>>
>>28045424
I use Howard Leight Impact Sports. They're alright, but they don't fit my head amazingly well. It's mildly annoying to get a good seal.

Still better than ear plugs or normal ear muffs.

Is there really much to discuss here?
>>
I want a pair of electronic muffs with a mic and blutooth. So I can get phone calls at the range, innawoods, and using yard machines.
>>
I shove a couple rounds of 9mm in my ears, its antiquate. I also have a pair of those muffs with the built in mic and speakers, they are neat but cumbersome.
>>
best bang for the buck for electronic pro?
>>
>>28047414
howard leight impact sport

This.

They work great and you can pick up a pair for about $50

MSA Supreme Pros with plugs as needed.

Impact Pros are pretty rad too, they stay in my bag.

Go on Amazon and type in "ear plugs bulk". A number of very cheap and good options. About .10 a pair and individually packaged so you can throw a bunch in your bag, car, rifle case, etc and never be without hearing protection. I also own several pairs of those cheap Caldwell electronic muffs. Very effective but bulky. Can't complain for less than $20 though.

Get some of the behind the neck style muffs, perhaps?
>>
Use cheap-o Champion baffled plugs. I've never liked muffs, and foam plugs bug the shit out of me.
>>
>>28048328
Owned my Impact Pros for less than a month and already I want Comtac IIIs.
>>
Are there any electronic earplugs?

I have a generous budget.
>>
>>28049048

Bose noise canceling ~$400
>>
>>28049100
I mean something like >>28046086 but ear plug format.
>>
Peltors, unbeatable if you don't mind parting ways with a couple of hundred dollarie dos, if I can't be fucked carrying the things it's just Surefire defenders.
>>
>>28046086
Do you know the model name?
>>
>>28047396
You should fire the rounds into your head; having a good seal is important.
>>
>>28049150
kek

I personally double up with plugs and muffs. Unlike vision, you can't get some sort of lasik or lens replacement surgery if you fuck up your ears. All you have is what you're born with.

I have those but I never felt "safe" with them on. They never grip my head tight enough and the muffs are too thin. The sound amplification is top notch though.

I prefer my 3M peltors earmuffs to be honest, especially in an indoor environment. They are half the price of the Howard Leights and offer better protection (NRR 30 vs NRR 22).

I have these, think they are great. Real good for hunting because you can still hear whats around you while being protected from excessively loud noise.
>>
Plugs and muffs. Best way to go.
>>
>>28049270
what plugs and muffs is I think what the question was. I use 3m peltors and custom silicone plugs. I want to get some electronic ear pro though.
>>
>>28049277
Bulk pack plugs and Caldwell low profile ear muffs. Never get any stock interface and no ear ringing.
