I dont speak backwards letters so i dont know what hes saying but awhile back an anon said that russian reserve aircraft dont usually have the best equipment or some parts are pulled for main line planes. Thats why theyre using a garmin. Being that russia hasnt been in a major conflict in years it makes sense that their reserves are like this.

Glossnass is not compatible with SAA GPS equipment. The SU24s use GLOSSNAS for navigation and the Garmin GPS to coordinate attacks with the SAA groundforces.

Its not. normally GPS systems take both NAVSTAR and GLONASS signals even if its only civvie signals from one or the other. this particular Su-24(yes its Su-24, just google cockpits of Su-24 and Su-34, go on its really easy to spot which is which) was supposedly an old ass Su-24 that only got some comms. and bombsight upgrade. Also as theyve been running high intensity bombing missions for quite some time now I dont think they rely on these much as they are quite familiar with the landscape already.
