Really into star wars as a kid. Had all the technical books, the toys, video games. Loved the weapons, the space ships obviously. That all quickly evolved into a love of WW2 when SPR came out back in 1998 and the flood of WW2 fps, instead of X-wings and TIEs I became interested in P-51's and BF-109's.
Can't fucking stand star wars nowadays.

I grew up watching war documentaries and shit on History channel when it was still about history. By the time I was 10 or so, I had my own shelf in our little movie cabinet (which is 8 ft tall) all to myself and it was filled with nothing but documentaries on various wars and conflicts.
I feel like this has something to do with it

I'm into military matters because I was in the Navy and studied history at university.
I'm into weapons because I enjoy hunting and clay pigeon shooting, which I have done since I was a child.
I grew up in a LT Dan type family.
So at a really young age I got a interest in military jets and the military in general because my dad would show me cool TRADOC shit or take me to see the Aircraft Carriers in Newport News, and my Granddad loved to tell me that he jumped out of perfectly good airplanes. Hell when I was a kid I remember watching combat footage of the 2003 Invasion of Iraq that my dad showed me. Also my Grandfather on my moms side would tell me stories about his M14 in Vietnam.
