I'm a die hard Glock fan. I'm glad my unit finally picked up 19's to begin replacing the M9. But I also cc a 642 Airweight at all times forever. A hammerless revolver has an advantage at every level over an autoloader during a face to face mugging. If you need more than ~5-6 shots, you need to break contact and go find something else to be involved in. But I do keep my 19 and a few factory 32 rounders in my vehicle for that once in a lifetime Murphy shows up scenario.

Conversely, I find revolvers really awkward and uneconomic. Could be because I started on semis.
Guns are not my hobby. My only gun, a S&W 64, is perfect for a guy like me. Simple to shoot, simple to operate, no extra steps to deal with misfires, harder to jam, feels so fucking right in the hand. Just squeeze trigger gun go bang.
I will concede that high quality semi-automatic handguns are superior weapons in almost every way. They can be just as powerful, easier to conceal both in width and comparable barrel length, higher capacity, higher rate of fire, faster to reload. But for me, going to the range isn't a fun afternoon but a necessary chore. I appreciate the simplicity of my weapon of choice.

A .44 Magnum is like a '68 Mustang with a hot 302 under the hood.
A S&W 500 is a '69 Dodge Charger with a blow Hemi.
Your Glock is a Honda Civic . practical. Efficient and about as exciting as a bowel movement .
Given the choice, I'll take the Hemi Charger over the Civic, even if you throw in a fart can muffler and some vinyl cladding.

Generally I agree with you as a primary carry gun I wouldn't choose one.
For a backup or holdout I would consider one since the capacity vs. similarly sized autos is much closer with the edge to autos.
I am a inner city cop in the south and carry a G17 primary and a G43 backup. I tried the G26 and just found it too chunky.

Utilitywise they are good large predator backcountry hunting/hiking guns. Maybe as a backup or deep concealment fun but single stack 9mms like the M&P Shield and G43 hold more rounds.
