StG 44s, despite being rare, don't actually cost more than an M16, which is nice if you're willing to shell out +$20,000 for one. Realistically, that's pretty cheap for one.

Are you retarded?
The german infantry doctrine was focused on the mg34/42 all the rifleman were only there to cover the mg as it set up/repositioned, ferry ammo back and forth or call out targets.

The German infantry did not upgrade the standard issue rifle because of doctrine

The US army circa ww2 was more focused on individual marksmanship and firepower per soldier, hence why you get the m1 garand.

Now git, and stay git
>>
>>28014612
required you to download the magazine or it wouldn't function reliably. The cartridges in the magazine pushed on the tilting bolt, and if it wasn't the correct amount of pressure the gun wouldn't work right.

The East Germans made new StG-44s redesigned for 7.62x39, presumably with improvements based on Haenel's simplified design for the StG-45 competition. The magazines look very similar to HK-32 mags.

The result was that the soviets went nyet, and told the NVA to adopt the AK or else.

We know of this from a czech magazine article.

headspacing was don by welding it with lead, it wasn't expected to have a service life longer than 5,000 rounds on the bolt carrier, and of course there's the fact that not loading your mag to 25 instead of 30 would cause malfunctions. other than that... perfection in gun form. I know that all you need for make the G3 full auto trigger pack work is space for the auto seer spring to sit (no semi-auto receiver shelf) and the bolt carrier to trip the auto seer lever on the way back forward.

HMG has probably designed the bolt carrier to no have clearance for the auto seer lever to ride underneath it and be tripped by the carrier.

The carrier on the left is the Semi-Auto version.

All that is seriously missing to trigger the auto seer lever is a bit of milled out steel in the left hand channel of the left carrier vs the FA carrier on the right that has it for a G3.

Makes me wonder just exactly what HMG has done to render their gun inoperable with the FA pack.
>>
>>28014619
AK-47: Highly reliable, not as heavy, heavier round, rotating bolt.

STG-44: Weaker round, not as reliable, not as effective range on full-auto, tilting bolt.

>Makes me wonder just exactly what HMG has done to render their gun inoperable with the FA pack.
IIRC, from the InRange video, it seems like you need to mess with the geometry of the receiver or something. The audio's not too great in that part.

This is a full auto trigger pack

All it takes for FA is to trip that lever closest to the camera on the right hand side of the picture when the bolt is closing.

Like the other anon said. I'd be interested to see what they did to keep you from installing and using this pack. Most likely they designed the bolt in such a way that it won't correctly engage the auto lever.

The mods are not lazy. The thread might get removed if they are 50% lazy.

If they are lazy 100% this time then they are kinda gay.

It should be the Sherman pushing the t34 while the t34 is being shot up.

The US gave industrial might, England bought time, the Russians sacrificed blood.

>STG: short stroke gas piston
>AK: long stroke gas piston

>STG: tilting bolt
>AK: rotating bolt

You are as correct as someone who says the SKS is an AK derivative.

sure.. Hugo Schmeisser just happened to work on the same place(Izhevsk) as Kalashnikov, which as a red army sergeant, was a master into building firearms..

Yeah I never understood why we let the Commies have him as the Brits had him first. I guess small arms just weren't a priority.
>>
>>28024906

There is a start up called HMG in Atlanta,GA supposedly working on one. Since they have never made a gun before and previously only made steel targets I am skeptical. Hopefully I am wrong. Forgotten Weapons have been interviewing them
