Also, the finish work is WAY better on this one than my roommates old one. The most obvious difference is the hammer. The old version is just a flat sided flat topped hammer shaped blank of steel, the new one is checkered and contoured like a real SAA hammer, I like it.

I went with a buddy to Cabela's for the black friday deal, he snagged the Heritage Rough Rider .22. I was just there to pick up some .22, and perused the used gun racks they have while he was waiting in line.
Found a Winchester 1897 there, 30" Takedown model full choke, for $159.
Always wanted one, picked it up, $173 after tax, other than being a little grimy on the inside, and the forearm is a little shoddy, it's in pretty good shape.
I'd like to think that was a pretty decent price, and I've always wanted an 1897.
