So /k/, what does everyone use as a backpack in their bugout kits?
>>
Alice pack

simple JanSport backpack
>>
I have an ILBE for a bug out ruck, the assault pack for a range/truck bag, and some LBX backpack I use for work to carry my laptop and just so happens to have a holster inside.
>>
>>27985166
this exactly but in OD green

It's not big enough for what really belongs in a bug out bag and considering how far I have to go to rendezvous with my family
>>
>>27985166

I didn't jump on the prepper zombie packolips bandwagon, so I don't have such a thing. I do have a few different backpacks I use when I go innawoods though.

I refuse to call it a bugout, but I do have a central bag to keep most of my emergency supplies in. It spends most of the time in my trunk, with the rest of my tools and shit.

In the unlikely event I have to trek long distances, great, it's all rigth there. In the more likely event that a short-term emergency pops up, it's easy and convenient to get inside.

Bag is a Direct Action Ghost.

Painted it like my rifle for shits and giggle.s

thats a pretty good discrete looking backpack. i tend to get a kick whenever I see some guy with some huge Molle backpack in a situation where its completely necessary.

A consumer grade hiking backpack that you can pick up from a sporting goods store is often more suited for most uses and won't make you look like a dork
>>
>>27985166
A northface Recon honestly. Bought it well before my interest in guns began, so I dont feel the need to buy a new one when its a quality backpack, unfortunately lacks detachable packs or MOLLE webbing, but it makes up for it.

Just ordered a Mystery Ranch Overload bag

It's fuckpensive, but indestructible. That Overload feature is what sold me on it - I can use it as a 3-5 day pack for camping, or if I need to add another bag to the load or some other weird as fuck item I can simply add one in.

Guys in Afganistan were testing them to carry combat casualties and shit - like strapping wounded into it like a baby carrier. Worked incredibly well.

I'm looking at the Ghost for EDC (college mostly) as well as some outdoors and bikepacking, how would you describe the quality and craftsmanship of their packs?
I'm a bit unsure about the tacticoolness of it too, how do people react to the lasercut PALS?
>>
>>27987906
Great quality. Quiet and smooth YKK zippers, tightly woven Cordura nylon with something they call "DWR" coated on the inside to make it water repelling. I use it mostly for hunting and haven't noticed anything get wet. Sort-of regret that I didn't take the Ghost instead because of the padded waistband. I live in a rural village where hunting equipment is regular and no one really thinks twice about by backpack. Friends have commented it for looking like something from Arma 3 but that's it.

Personally I would've chosen a grey or black Ghost for use in towns or cities. My Coyote backpack screams too much mil.
>>
>>27986855
And what is your experience with it so far?
>>
>>27988215
Not that anon, but I had a miltec bag (different bag) for 4 years now. It is only just starting to fall apart from years of semi daily use with some stupidly heavy loads in it.

Use it as a range bag and for Airshit, load it with 50lb+ loads in it and swung it around and did all sorts of shit to it. 30 dollar bag, I gave no fucks. It's only now starting to fall apart and rip in one or two places. Bag remains usable, but another year of the same abuse will kill it.

If you are poor fag and want a bag that will get you from now until you are a rich fag, it's a decent bag. Now that I am a rich fag, I'm buying Arc and Mystery Ranch shit from now on.

I have one that has the typical tan tactical look for innawoods, and another gray man option that is just a civilian backpack I bought at uni campus. I hunt, molle holds mags and it has a rifle rest on molle.

When playing with guns far away from a square range, I feel it's wise to keep a blow out pouch on the outside of my pack.

I dont have anything against civie packs, but I bought the equipment which suited the task at hand. I also rock super tactical carhartt and Cardinals baseball caps in bright orange.

Bruh Burton all the way. I've had mine since 9th grade and I'm still using it, my senior year in college.

Same here, I used to have an ACU pack but found one the classic woodland cammo pattern and now it doesn't stand out too much anymore.

I like the ergonomics of the Savotta more than the Vulcan. I carried an older Savotta during conscript service. Featurewise they both offer what I want. This makes the Savotta better in my eyes.
And note that there is small Jääkäri backbag and a large rucksack. Vulcan costs here 240€ and the large Jääkäri 580€.

>>28001204
Oh and side pockets for Savotta cost 55€ a piece, so add that to the price.

I have the same pack in a different color. The ability to completely unzip and lay flat is my favorite thing about it, and will be a requirement for any future pack I buy.

Mystery Ranch makes fantastic American Made bags
Have the 3 day assault and the SATL 10 years ago...only really needed one. They both are great.

>>28001211
Got mine for 50-60 iirc. They're rugged as fuck, but I wouldn't pay more than 70.

I beg to differ. Enjoy succumbing to your social standards for the rest of your life, faggot.

just ordered this also.

They want like $120 for it, but that seemed pretty high to me. If I'm gonna spend that much I might as well save up and buy the kelty I want.

You've been watching a few too many episodes of doomsday preppers

Might be lower tier, but I have a Spiderwire sling bag. It's made for fishing, so it's decently built, and has a lot of room for a sling bag

C'mon desu senpais. How autismo would anything other than black look?

Being able to lay it all out really changes the way you pack, I feel it's a lot more efficient. I need to get some of those specially made cubes since I've been just using packing cubes.

>>28012240
Nice, you'll like it. It's packed full of little features that's really thoughtful, and makes your life just a bit easier while carrying a fuck ton of stuff up a mountain. Like how all the straps have their own velcro straps so you can secure the excess and prevent them from flapping around. Little touches like that makes me smile.

>get excited almost impulse buy
>wonder wtf this thing is doing here
>look closer, seems kinda cheap, but huge
>"made in china" of course
>never heard of brand, Everest if i remember right

Should I go back and buy it or not? Googled it in the store and first couple links had it for $30 then I asked myself if i really wanted something that might bust a strap if i load it up? Then again it might be good for carrying a few things while turkey hunting or left to lighter use

I have the OP's pic except in black.

Durable, rugged, oversized zippers and shit generally functions well. Have had it so long the black is starting to fade to a deep maroon/purple from the sun. It is very small but will hold the basic essentials.
