Hey /K/, what does a fire mission request sound like? I'm doing a military op thing in an RPG and wondered what a good artillery, mortar, and air strike request would sound like (dealers choice marines or army, American) dialogue-wise. I didn't want to have to rely on CoD/Battlefield dialogue stuff.

A Marine 9 line CFF for mortars is as follows:
1. ID (callsign)
2. Warno (type of mission, adjust fire/shift fire/quicksmoke, illum, etc, etc)
break, FDC will do readback
3. Location (grid, direction and distance from OP or known point and corrections.)
Break, readback
4. Description
5. Method of fire (# of rounds for FFE, shell, fuze setting. This is optional; FDC will do what they think is right based off of description.)
6. Method of Control (at my comand, TOT etc. Again optional, FDC will fire when ready if not stated.)
Break, readback.

Is the ammo can that those 420 round XM855 packs come in a .30 cal can? I've never seen a solo .30 cal can to compare to. I know this is retarded but I just wanted to be sure before I bought a 30 cal can to store some boxed 5.56 I have in.

Aimpoint. Battery life and durability. Before people start saying that eotech is "durable enough," consider that USSOCOM is seeking a replacement and that they cost more than the PRO and have substantially shorter battery life. I've owned both and only have Aimpoint now.
And I know pictures of US SOF show eotechs, so you may not feel as cool with an Aimpoint until they replace eotechs. Look up Norwegian FSK and MJK for some very nice Aimpoint porn.
