Torch thread?

My anti tank weapon of choice
>>27964386
In Belgium, security guards aren't allowed to carry a torch longer than 31cm (12,2 inch) because it could be used as a weapon otherwise...
We used to have a lot of old Mag-lite's, but now there's gathering dust. Our new model is the LED Lenser M7R. Nice tool, especially the strobo defence option.

That is stupid as hell. I don't understand that thought process at all.
>>27964386
Is there any reason why Brits kept calling them torches and americans started saying flashlight
>>27964409
>snipe infantry accompanying tank
>lay down suppressing fire if commander attempts to open hatch
>sent out guy with cutting torch and backpack tanks to cut through armor and destroy turbines

'Law enforcement use:
Maglite flashlights have been known to be used as a ready substitute for a baton. Security and police personnel often carry Maglite flashlights as they can be employed as a defensive weapon, especially at night or in dark locations. Police officers will often use Maglites during traffic stops or suspect confrontation, as the beam can disorient an attacker and the flashlight can be swung as a baton as a measure of last resort in self-defense.
On March 30, 2007, the Los Angeles Police Department announced that they would be switching to a smaller, lighter LED flashlight that cannot be used as a baton, in response to a highly publicized incident where an officer was accused of using excessive force against a suspect by using a Maglite."

Eh. I can understand that legislation. Security Guards aren't very known for their gentle or well-thought out actions.
I've got a Fenix PD32 running 18650 for 3 years now. Best purchase I ever did.
I'm looking for a similar flashlights, with ~300 lumens and 18650/CR123 capabilities, but with a bit lower price point. For backup and whatnot
>>27964468
Close to 127 lumen here... Damn. Yours is like 3 times stronger, and uhm. cheaper? How much did you pay?

Had to check my mail for the invoice
47 Euridoos in september '12
The PD32UE and the PD35 are too powerful and too expensive (>70 euro now) for my taste.
>>27964468
The thing I like the most about it is the very low output on the lowest setting. It's like 3 lumens but more than enough for most things.
Lasts 10 days continously on that setting

M7R about 100 eur. Double U - TF.

LedLenser is fucking shit
They're owned by Leatherman. Leatherman should just keep with making nice multitools. They know jack shit about flashlights. Too expenive, bad design and shit quality.

I prefer the Thrunite tn12. All those dif modes, hard as fuck to break, that 1100 lumen output now a 2 yr warranty on all flash lights I use to be a Fenix fan, fuck Fenix now, Thrunite all the way.
Just ordered an Olight i3S. Smallest, lightest AAA flashlight I could find

They look nice
NiteCore P12 has a bit more features and same specs overall though.
I'll need to do some more research when the time comes. Thanks for the input though
My daily driver torch. Team GTT for life.

I work security at two bars. This is always in my pocket at work. Has a Malkoff illuminator for 800+ Lumen output. It's the best light I've owned considering the tough treatment it gets.
dual output led white/red headlamp (accepting filters would be fine) that runs on 18650 or 2x cr123, anyone?

Holy fuck, you would be a legend if you managed to destroy a tank with an oxy torch. They would sing songs about you for the rest of time.
>>27964409
If you used an oxy torch on a tank with reactive armor, would the RHA activate?
>>27968661
I don't think you know what RHA stands for.
>>27968674
Autocorrect. I meant IRA. the question still stands
>>27968706
You mean ERA?
