WHY THE FUCK CAN'T MY 10-22 GET THROUGH 3 ROUNDS WITHOUT A JAM?

>90% the jam is a complete failure to eject despite being lolblowback action
>rest of the time it stovepipes

it does this with every ammo i've put through it (mini-mags federal automatch, cci standard velocity, armscor high velocity and more) and the extractor looks sharp, I bought the gun new and have fought my way through maybe 200 rounds

what fuck

use the warranty
>>
>>27960160
Send it in via warranty. Mine doesn't do any of that shit.
>>
clean the chamber before firing
>>
Should have bought a cz.
>>
>>27960160

My 10/22 had the same issue, I had to bend the extractor.

The dude in this video is doing what I did:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoIdMi6u-3U

If you fuck your shit, the extractor is like $2 for a replacement.

>>27960363

Also stop using those shitty Butler Creek magazines.

Take well-lit pictures and talk to Ruger, anon. Sometimes fuckups make it past QC, use the Ruger warranty.

They'll either fix it or give you store credit for the MSRP.
>>
>>27960160
Send it in for warranty. This is why you buy new guns - they're expected to work w/out you having to do shit.

My 10/22 runs flawless. I had one stovepipe at the end of a box of the cheapest remington 22lr (the 525 Golden Bullet box). I cleared it, and it ran another 525 before I cleaned it w/out any problems.

Should have bought a marlin model 60
>>
What mags are you using
>>
>>27960160
What ammo are you using? I used to have the same problem until I switched to American Eagle / CCI- the it would go through bout 70-80 rounds before it jammed once.

>Store credit for MSRP
Holy hell. Do they sell their shit at MSRP in the store? Cause that sounds amazing.

check the spring in the bolt maybe, could be too strong

well its been broken in half, no wonder it jams
>>
>>27960160

Check the magazine lock.
I've had two takedowns and i had to adjust the locking on both to make them feed reliably.

Test by locking the mag in place and grab hold of it too see if there's "excessive" play (there's always some but it shouldn't be more than a mm or so)
If so disassemble the trigger group and remove the plastic magazine release lever and file down the surface that contacts the spring loaded plunger.
This way you'll extend the plungers range of motion allowing for a more positive lock.

I had one of the 10/22's made on a Friday.
It was the casting company they started, then outsourced making the bolt to them.
The receiver has sometimes a burr where the shell gets ejected. The burr also prevents the bolt from going all the way forward which is a spacing and very bad thing. See attached pic.

The bolt needs to be chamfered in the rear, polished, put in the firing pin holdown pin.
My firing pin was slightly bent from level dragging within the bolt.
Install a poly bolt buffer in the rear to help the vibration affecting accuracy.
Most of all get a Voltquarsen hardened extractor.
When you put the barrel in after a tear down and cleaning, make sure the extractor goes into the barrel slot without drag. Rotate to taste and lock it down.
Make sure the scope mounting screws are not coming down on top of the bolt for being too long. If you have a scope on it.

If Ruger doesn't honor their warranty or make some b.s. excuse go to www.rimfirecentral.com and look up the 10/22 fixes and mods for jams.

Realize I'm late to the game, but my 10/22 keeps stovepiping AND I have the voqualtsen extractor.

Any thingI can do? My 10/22 is too modded out so I can't send it to Ruger.

Good advice. I could get my jammer Friday 10/22 to run through the stock 10 round magazine, but not the bx-25 or butler creek 25 round mags for this very reason.
There is a mod instructions for that on www.rimfirecentral.com stickied to the top of the forums.
>>
I feel so lucky

Over 2000 rounds of the cheapest cheap ammo - mostly thunderbolts - and I've never ever had a single malfunction

If you can't do the smithy work on it yourself, take it to a reputable shop.
rimfirecentral.com has a bevy of helpful folks. I make a few postings there.

Stop using shitty mags.

What kind of work are we talking about?
>>

What mags are you using?

Butler-Creek steel lips
>>
>>27967720
There's your problem, just use the standard Ruger 10rd mags an you'll be fine. Even the steel lipped Butler Creek mags are shit.
>>
>>27967784
Really? I've never had problems with the steel lips and I've used them for a long time.
>>
>>27960160
rub the insides with peanut butter
>>
>>27967887
I only ever have problems when I use BC mags, same thing goes for my buddies too.
>>
>>27960381
Butler creek magazines are fine friend, you just have shit taste.
>>
>>27968424
All aftermarket mags for the 10/22 suck. I've tried every single one. If you like yours, you simply got lucky.
>>
>>27967921
Never had an issue with butler creek mags, like ever.
