What if every fighter had a drone for a wingman?

Outside of it being able to pull of manuevers no human driven fighter could (sub 100m radius U-turns at Mach 3+) would it add any capabilities? What if it had kamikaze features?

What good would it do if a modern fighter had launchable long-range drones that could participate in combat as well as had their own warhead for an end-game instead of AAAM missiles?

why not just a big cargo plane that deploys a bunch of drones which are controlled by an AWACS

Something like a Protoss carrier ?

The drones would be too tiny to be usefull in any way.

Cargo plane should not go into contested airspace.

Yes, the idea of a fighter controlling multiple drones is a real concept that is being worked on.

However, the ability of drones to withstand higher g-forces is overhyped, because airframes and mechanical components also have limitations.

Drones would be very useful for detecting and suppressing air defenses without putting the pilot in harms way, and for acting as missile launch platforms.

>too tiny
Use a large dirigible as a launch vehicle. Nice and torus shaped with a launch frame in the middle.

Now the vehicles can be huge. And can be launched vertically, refueled by traditional means and can assist any pilot who asks.

>Mach 3+ 180 degree manuevers

Why don't airframes use small alcohol rockets for these tight manuevers at high speed?

And a cut off/cut on system for the main air breathing engines.

Pretty sure I have that Ace Combat somewhere...

There is no rule which says that drones must be small. The global hawk has a 1571 inch wingspan. That's bigger than the P8 Neptune.

Anon, stop, my dick can only get so hard...

What is MALD-J? What is JITSA Area Dominator?

G-limit for the average turbine engine is 20g.

Of course, the "drones maneuver better" argument is retarded anyway, because maneuvering isn't what wins aerial fights. Information does. Computers could hypothetically out-process humans, but presently, humans are superior integration solutions for data processing, and pushing them as far forward as possible maximizes information density and reaction time.

Drones can be large enough to carry their own AMRAAMs.

You fighter-drone advocates are so fucking clueless it's ridiculous.

Then it would be a missile.

They can and do.

Why shouldn't we go for 1 MILLION Gs?

google and the fed have doing that that for a long time
