Someone please tell me why people get knives this big. I'm a hunter, but still don't feel like this would do more than annoy me. It looks like I'd have been much better off just bringing my 18 tools in 1 folding shovel and worn a smaller knife in the shovel sheath.

The idea being that you could do a decent amount of bushcraft such as felling small saplings or batoning wood to make firewood if you found yourself in a survival situation.
A person would carry a knife as opposed to an ax for weight reasons when going hiking or what have you.
As a hunter, you are right, that knife is far too long to clean game.

If this is serious, it is a very cheap knife you can find at Walmart or Harbor Freight or whatever. The blade is held to the handle with a single screw. It would break almost instantly if ever used.
You are far better off getting a cheap Gerber knife, they have 20 dollar knives that will actually serve you well.
