Don't get shot
If you are being faced by a shooter and believe you are about to be shoot, turn to face them from your side, reducing your profile and target area. If armed, draw your weapon at this time. If not ensure your arm is placed your side, providing a slight barrier between the projectile and vital organs housed within the torso.
This is all information I can provide right now without further, more advanced and in-depth training.

But fireing a pistol with one hand isnt as effective as two. More likely to hit the target where you needed to and quicker.
But youd be surprised how bulletproof a small space can be.

First and foremost if you can escape, fucking do it.
If you can barricade a room, do it.
Worst is play dead. Unless your doing it until they move on to other targets and you can do either of the first two options.
Last option that will help others, charge. If your going to die anyways, you might as well try to buy others more time, if enough were brave enough to do this there is a chance of bringing an attacker down.

Also having a gun never hurt, in case you ever get the opportunity to use it or cannot run.
