What will be the militant's weapon of choice once all the old soviet AK's are done for?
>>
>>27950504
>Soviet AK

Alot of the shit you see kicking around in the hands of terrorists is Chinese. Plenty more is from the Balkans.
>>
>soviet

The majority of extant Kalashnikovs are probably Chinese by now.

And I doubt anything new will appear for a long time yet. We've pretty much figured firearms out by now; you can make them longer or shorter or heavier or lighter but in terms of reliability and effectiveness we've basically hit the peak.

Once new projectiles are developed we'll see a radical change. Until caseless rounds or flechettes are the norm, though, your average Terry Taliban will stick to his AK.

AR-15. Ever since the AWB elapsed, everybody and their mother has been churning out a variant or two, and every wannabe-OPERATOR has been snatching them up like gangbusters. And seeing as today's inawoodsers are more than likely going to be tomorrow's "militants"...

Dragon dildos. Lots and lots of dragon dildos. Many fired from,RPG launchers. RPD's. Rocket propelled dildos.

What are the benefits of flechettes?
>>
>>27952106

internal bleeding, getting shot with mini knives will make patching you up a nightmare.
>>
>>27952106
Higher velocity longer ranged shotgun shell, so to speak. At least that's what the heli mounted ones do.
>>
Easily the AR-15.
>>
>>27952136

No way those things could make decent shots past a 150 meters.

>implying the old soviet AKs are breaking
Invincible Soviet engineering will outlast life on this planet.
It's the end of the gookshit they need to worry about.

Fired out of a 30 inch gun with huge powder loads.

I'd be surprised if anyone could build a flechette gun that outperforms 5.56 at the same weight.

Paki G3s are almost as common as AKs for certain Islamic terrorist outfits now.

AKs will last forever though. There are too many of them in the world and they simply don't break down.

This shit's pretty neato, this is a hell of a lot better than the other example.
>>
>>27950504
Churn out receiver flats, turn barrel stock

Make more AKs! Many AK for generations!
>>
A lot of ISIL types have been jacking Iraqi army M16A2s and the like. I'm sure Chinese weaponry will always be prevalent but otherwise it depends on who has left their shit lying around there in the past 20 years, which is now the US.

IEDs.

>What will be the militant's weapon of choice once all the old soviet AK's are done for?

They're still making new AKs for under $150/ rifle, and shipping them all over the place.
AKs are here to stay.

Don't get your hopes up, Cletus.

Any insurgency in the US would be swiftly crushed by the military. And no, soldiers won't desert in significant numbers.

(Insert Jihadist group here) aren't using antiquated WW leftovers and they aren't still around after ~15 years of crushing US military presence.

...A MILITARY LIST?

HOW DARE MY CO's HAVE MY NAME FOR ROLL CALL!
>>

There will always be two guns that will always be carried to war.
The 1911 and the AK in 7.62
>>
>>27956150

Thank you for your paid comment.

I do believe the military will be hesitant in that case though. They didn't have to worry about their wife and children living next door to the taliban

As long is the Chinese are still fucking around in Africa expect to see AKs in irregular unit's hands.

Also the AR is on par with the AK now for 'insurgent rifle' since we keep handing them out like candy to people who just drop them and run (or are the enemy to begin with).

He sounds like ar15.com

I heard Aimless accidentally put an 8th round in one of his pistol mags and had to IM every law enforcement officer on the site apologizing.
