>How do you "sci-fi" a chest rig, though?
Get rid of the obvious side-release buckles and keepers, or replace them with something more future-y. Make it out of the "pleather" that stormtrooper pouches were made of in the past, like the shoulder holster on the sandtrooper or that pouch on this guys hip. Or go the full mile and integrate it into the chestplate, its not like massive armor variation between imperial units is a new thing.

fuck off this is perfect, I'm glad it doesn't have LEDs and wires and fucking useless crap dangling.

Maybe they should lift or something so they can handle a gun that weighs more than 6 lbs.

Star Wars 'blasters' have nearly always called that for launching a 'blast' of superheated gas. Its not a laser pointer, its a projectile rifle.

they're not lasers, they're particle blasters. They magnetically suspend blobs of condensed plasma and then fire them out using electric coils or something.
>>
>>27950811
given that it appears to be based off a suppression/squad weapon design. it probably weighs 30-40lbs, so good luck with that

also I was slightly incorrect, star wars blasters are actually plasma bolt weapons, so there will be recoil

I was thinking more along the lines of the T-21 (Lewis Gun) or DLT-19 (MG-34/42) repeating/heavy blasters you saw the Sandtroopers carrying around Mos Eisley and in racks on the Death Star's security room. Those seemed to have been used like support GPMGs, DMRs, or battle rifles compared to the Blastech E11s every other trooper had.

Also, what's up with the "bipod" on some of the figures? It looks more like a baseplate or a door gunner's mount for an air vehicle.
>>
It is a really dumb fucking idea to have infantry with heavy weapons like that and full body armor. Infantry should either be long ranged skirmishers/archers that have plenty of ammo and large caliber weaponry at the cost of protection, or close range heavily armored troops preferably with heavy shields.

This is what happens when you let retarded sci fi people design a military.

Heavy gunners should be heavy gunners. They should sacrifice all aspects of capability to provide heavy gunning. If you can afford to take on any other roles it means you're gun isn't big enough.

I swear, the only beef I had with the Clone Troops was why the fuck did they put what looks like a scope on the bottom of their long rifle and use it as a foregrip? Other than that, I really liked it when they started decorating/graffitied up their armor. Sorta had a weird Vietnam GI feel to it, which may have been what they were going for..

>why the fuck did they put what looks like a scope on the bottom of their long rifle and use it as a foregrip?
It is a scope, its swings out of the way when not in use so as to not block peripheral vision. According to the AOTC visual dictionary at least, though Ive never seen a pic of it with the scope folded up and the VD probably isn't canon anymore.

From the gist i'm taking the New republic hasn't completely come together yet, maybe just core worlds while the outer rim shitholes are still not giving a shit. imperial remnants use the outer worlds to regroup to make a comeback. it's sorta happened in the non-canon EU except this new guy seems to be all about a vader comeback/revenge rather than a general resurgence of the empire. I've got the feeling Ren is going to end up being a Skywalker/Solo kid and/or is related to Rey.
>>
Can they hit anything yet?
>>
>>27950415
If there is a sensor module on the weapon you wouldn't use the scope.
Some kind of HUD optics integration.

Besides, you can't reasonably use a scope with a helmet, just like how riflemen use a laser module when they wear night fighting equipment.

According to the EU, the Stormtrooper helmets do have HUD systems. Also one thing that is almost entirely overlooked is that the majority of Imperial soldiers are not Stormtroopers and are closer to Warhammer's Imperial Guard, relatively lightly armored and act primarily as cannon fodder.

Storm troopers are literally storm troopers, like in WWI germany, they are elete shock troops. The reason you see them so much in the origonal trilogy is because it focuses on the heads of the empire and the rebel alliance, so it would be reasonable for elite troops to be there.

all the "lel stormtroopers can't hit shit bruv" is because they were using blondie Mc Carcrash and the gang to find the rebel alliance's main bases.

the two times we watched Vader and the 501st/storm troopers actually go full bore were them tactically operating tactically against a rebel transport in Ep1 and the Battle of Hoth which was the empire pulling out the big guns to absolutely wreck shit for PR operation desert storm style.

That's what it started as in the movies, red and yellow were generally officers, green engineers, and a few others.

Part of it is that the shiny white Troopers in most of the original trilogy were space fleet stationed and had to maintain parade gloss at all times. The Snowtroopers were fresh off a ship, Scout Troopers out of a garrison that could see visit from Sheev or Vader at any time. But a backwater garrison like Tatooine that actually had to live and work there?
>>
>>27953673
Oh no, don't get me wrong, I get why Strom Troopers generally all had pristine armor with no real modifications. You've got a more or less peace time army fighting an incurgency. So you're going to see a lot more standardization and cleaner armor as they're now basically garrison troops.

I'm not saying it doesn't make sense, just that I liked the high degree of customization from the Clone Wars better.

Also from a more meta stand point, the reason we saw so many different clone trooper customizations was to help the toy line and because the show ran for several seasons. So now they could easily introduce a bunch of different clone trooper toys. You've got your ARC troopers, scout troopers, 501st, brown painted troopers, Senate guards, underwater troopers, ect.

What happened ? Galak got a custom made gold plated power armor made of Cortosis with a multitude of weapons including rockets, heavy repeater, concussive plasma launcher, lethal electric force fields and got his shit handled by a cynical guy with a lightsaber that doesn't even calls himself a jedi

Isn't armoring your TIE pilots kinda pointless?
>>
>>27957561
I was about to say if was for if they survived getting shot down, but then I realized they're flying TIE fighters.

Yeah, it's pretty fucking pointless.
>>
>>27957561
What are flak jackets?
Although I do see your point, as most of the time one hit = the thing blows up
>>
>>27957600
The cockpit doesn't have atmosphere in it so they usually survive getting shot.

So are Storm troopers also clones or are they actual people?
>>
>>27957929
By the time of The Rebellion they were mostly conscripts, no new clones were being made.

This has been answered a million times. A better answer is "don't worry about it". And only faggots have Star Wars discussions on Facebook. I know that is what you are doing, you little faggot.

Granted that man was the best duelist since Obiwan himself, and possibly even better than Luke.
Kyle Katarn is basically Doomguy given a lightsaber and force powers, how do you expect him to lose?

That might actually be pretty cool, just have strong magnets and stick your steel NATO mags onto them instead of in pouches.
