I already made the choice and I'm 110% happy with it. It's a great gun and it's one of the most fun guns I've ever shot.
I was really tempted to get a Sub2K but ultimately wanted this simply because this gun is super comfy while the Sub2K isn't.

Trunk guns aren't a meme. But I would prefer a rifle in an intemediate caliber, a vz or AK with a folding stock is appropriate, or an AR, since it can disassemble into halfs.
No not everyone needs a trunk gun, but there are plenty of hypothetical you could come up with to justify one. It's like a carry pistol, it doesn't inconvenience you much, so why not do it?
