Well it's a Grendel P10, so it doesn't have a detachable mag which could be interfered with.
But on other guns it's a replacement base plate with a rail on it, no it doesn't block the mag.

The trigger pull is responsible for moving the cylinder. A semi-auto revolver uses the recoil to move the cylinder, they're not very common.

Could there possibly be a smaller mag well lower? Or possibly an attachment that makes it smaller for those that don't want to waste a few hundred on 2 lowers? Even for me, someone that does own a pistol caliber and 5.56 chambered AR-15 and to me the pistol carbine is fuggly with the magwell.

There are dedicated 9mm lowers. They are comparatively expensive and lock you into one caliber. They are also more ugly in my opinion.
The magwell in converted AR lowers isn't open, it's blocked with a 9mm magwell insert. Pic related.
I love shotguns, and I lover lever actions, but this is just insane.
