It shouldn't be too hard to make something similar out of an AK receiver partially built up with a rear trunnion, pistol grip (or not, cut the receiver for a Saiga style trigger placement), trigger group.
To this add a new front trunnion, a slide rail riveted underslung, a newly manufactured slide with various bits riveted/welded on, a fitted slide cap, and a slide back cover made to hook on the rear trunnion where the AK's recoil spring usually hooks into and secured in the front by the selector lever. Modernize a bit by using a pistol optic on the slide or use the AK's scope rail.
