You don't need to be into carpentry to make something like that, it's literally a few pieces of wood slapped together with screws and a hinge.

You need to load the cylinders with black powder, top with wad (optional) and a ball. You then use the ram under the pistol barrel to seat the ball into the cylinder. It's not very fun doing this without using a nice setup such as in OP's picture.
