Truly my worst decision

M1A. Love the look of it growing up. Saved and bought myself one. Took it to the range maybe twice and now it sits in the safe. Been there for about 8 years. Wished I knew more about rifles back then. Expensive to feed and not easily accessorized. Looking into getting an AR and possibly in .22lr but not sure because of the ammo situation.

Don't get a .22LR AR, get a stripped or completed lower and buy a .22LR upper for it, that way you can switch up to .223 or other calibers when/if you want. Also, guy at my LGS told this, get a .22LR upper and not a .22lr conversion kit, so you don't have to constantly re-zero everyone time you swap calibers.

I can confirm. If you're shooting 7.62x51/.308 its gonna be like $.60/$1 round. For those who like to shoot their rifles a lot, that adds up.

Unless they're sighting in, a lot of guys at my range will do something like this
