I definitely think gun owning posters are less likely to be shitposters, but there's plenty of shitposters who have guns. And I'm sure there's plenty of noguns that contribute in meaningful ways too. It's just less likely that I browse the threads they're in, they're probably the ones ogling over planes and tanks etc that nobody here knows enough about to do more than wildly speculate on anyway.

Yeah, I have 5 or 6 inherited guns too. But I never actually count them towards my total, or post them in my arsenal thread pictures. If I actually used them or had some connection to them, I probably would. I pretty much just count the ones I've bought myself or the one shotgun I was directly gifted as a kid.
The one grandpa gun I'd proudly post is a double barrel that basically kept my parents fed with pheasant meat as a kid. But I don't have that one.

I have a 36 gun safe and it's feeling cramped with under half of that. If I actually got 36 guns in there, I'd have a hell of a time getting to the ones I want to use without scratching stuff up.

Same here, I love collecting guns and expanding the ammo pile, which is significant now. The problem with my inherited guns is that they're all old fudd shotguns and a marlin 22 and they just don't get me excited. It took a vepr12 to make me care about shotguns again after like a decade of not caring whatsoever.

You are probably right. If I had enough disposable income right now, I'd probably start allowing more redundancy and buying more safes.
For now, I try to just get what I believe is the objectively best, or at least most interesting gun in each caliber I shoot. As of this last year, I now shoot pretty much all common military calibers except 303 brit. So I suppose "some" redundancy is almost unavoidable now, at least in calibers.
