Who makes the most reliable 7.62x39 AK drums? Are the korean ones worth the steel theyre made out of?
>>
Romanians

Idk if sgammo still has them in stock but they get regular batches. They are about sixty beans and worth every ยข

Top loading drums are better quality than the rear loading drums, but stay away from anything S.Korean. those are cheap commercially made mags and not milspec

Top loading are best then Chinese and Romanian rear loaders. Avoid the Korean drums as >>27928497 suggested.

I only have experience with Chinese 75 round drums and after 20+ years and who knows how many rounds it still works flawlessly, but they've gotten really expensive at like $500 (everything in this pic plus six 30 round Chinese mags, Chinese bayonet, Chinese cheesegrater handguard and 1000 rounds of ammo was bought NIB for $350 in the late 80s by my father, so yeah that really puts it into perspective)

Romanians are supposed to be really good too, and they're actually affordable. If I ever wanted any more drum mags I'd go for Romanians.

Are the polish ak's decent rifles?
>>
>>27931004
Yes.
>>
>>27931214
Thanks, I was deciding between AR or Ak and finally went with AK since I was more familiar.

Ive just been wondering which one to get.

as long as they're not from IO/pioneer arms

I have two Romanians, one a new production back-loader, the other a surplus top-loader. Both have functioned flawlessly, but I prefer the surplus drum.

No.

>Are the korean ones worth the steel theyre made out of?

Abso-fucking-lutely NOT.

Korean magazines are all SHIT.
I have a Korean AK drum, it lasted a shooting session or two before the shitty tiny little rivets in the neck started popping out.

They can't even master spot welding over there, it's like magazines made in India except they look a little nicer.

So century or zastava being bad is just a meme?
>>
>>27931238

Radom or bust.
>>
>>27928146
OP, South Korea makes 30 round AK mags with sheet metal feed lips.

They are all fucking terrible, don't buy Korean.

I wonder why capitalist countries have such a shitty understanding of 1950's manufacturing methods?
>>
those dog eaters can't even manage to make a regular AK magazine properly, something even the fucking Bosnians managed to do. drums are probably even worse.
>>
>>27931259
Zastava is actually bretty gud. It's when Century gets involved that things get kinda fucky.
>>
>>27931004
Depends on who makes the thing.dont matter if is russian, bulgarian, polish or jewish.

...what?

To be fair though, they do seem to have gotten better over the years. My M74 has been great, very accurate and runs flawlessly. Yeah I know, can't base it all off of one personal testimony. Still, I'm planning on buying an M92 soon and Century is the one importing them even though they are Zastava made. Are they top tier? Nope. Are they good as a nice entry-level AK provider? I'd say so. Just inspect it to be sure. It's kind of hard to fuck up an AK unless you are India with their designated shitting rifle.

The chinese-style romanians are the best and most commonly available.
