In terms of .45 ACP handguns how does the Glock 21 do? Thinking about getting one.

It does fine. It's a glock.

Good, but I'd personally get the G41, slightly longer barrel, more sight radius, and thinner slide.
Good guns, but not great. I still think I prefer a 1911, but that's just me. If I want a tactical high capacity .45 ACP I'd go for the squishy squishy FNX or maybe an M&P with extended magazine.

They're fine (they're a Glock after all). Nothing special, but nothing really wrong (again, they're a Glock after all).
The G41 is basically a direct upgrade to the G21SF though, and that's a direct upgrade to the old lardass G21.
Personal choice for a defensive/combat fullsize .45 would be an FNX though. Just feels better to me, theoretical squishiness and everything.

The 21 sf I had was pretty decent all around never had problems with it but ended up selling it and getting a hk 45 just felt better in the hand and seems more accurate. I'll probably pick up a police trade in 21sf in the future if I get the chance at the right price
My issued gun at work, and I love it. I actually replaced my personal HK45 with another. There wasn't much difference in accuracy, the Glock handled recoil better to me, and the increased mag capacity is always a plus. I couldn't justify the price of the H&K when I could have two 21s for that price if I wanted. It's a Glock. Not the prettiest, but it works.
What about the XD45?

that's what I just did. I love my glocks but in 45 there are better.

I like mine but you find lots of people hate the grip safety.
>>27925739
I feel the same way. My Glock is the 20 and I switch between carrying it and my 1911.

Felt good in the hand but dat bore axis yo.
It's like shooting a lighter, harder-recoiling 92SF. Fine for target work (even the hardly-ever-cleaned rental was quite accurate), probably okay for CC if you can CC a full frame pistol, probably not the best choice for a combat or wilderness-defense gun.
>some people don't like the grip safety
Grew up on 1911's, I literally don't even notice it.

squishy squishy fan here.
15 rounds of .45 are hard to knock.
Got a G19, shits amazing. Not sure which pistol I like more.
>>27925698
It's alright, more of a SIG P220 fan, but a Glock is fine too.
>>27925998
Or you could get two g21s for the price of one squishy and akimbo dat dere sweet fouty fife
I have a g21sf and it's nice.

Good for most applications. I keep a 21sf as a nightstand gun with a TLR-2 and a suppressor. I also have a 22 adapter for plinking (it used to be about saving money, but w/e).

I will say one problem I encountered was with the metal safety. Was carrying in a galco iwb holster during summer and hadn't cleaned or shot it in a few weeks. Went to break it down and rust had built up on the safety and I had to take a plastic mallet to get the safety to move and release the magazine.

I have one (XD-45) and carried it iwb for about 2 years straight before I got my XDs. It is a good pistol and i have had zero problems with it. the hk and FNX are great, but in a diferent price range.
