Ir's got problems but the modding community is stepping up to fix a lot of them. Also, Eugen is working on maps, which is the greatest weakness of the game.
Buy it when it's on sale, but don't bother playing it online unless you have some friends. The game's learning curve is steep and the game is boiled down to its hardcore community that will massacre a newb.
