man i really have an itch for a .40 S&W USP, is it noticeably more snappy int the compact than the fullsize?

interested in the .40 because the USP was designed around it (and i already carry a P228)
>>
>>27922734
You can definitely tell the difference between the compact and fullsize, but even with that being said, the compact still shoots a lot nicer than the .40 S&W glocks and their competition. The fullsize uses kraut magic to reduce the felt recoil even further. If you get a chance to try before you buy, go for it. If not? You'll probably not regret it anyway.

I've had no problems with my USP .40 and don't feel it's noticeably more snappy. My wife finds it comfortable to fire and considered a USP Compact for a while.
>>
>>27922734
some say the fullsize snaps harder, but is easier to get back on target, while the compact snaps less but take a fraction longer to get back on target.

Id say the fullsize is prolly easier to get back on target, but who the fuck knows. When you double-tappin that fotay and get yo timing right, they go thru the same hole, regardless of gun.

whatever USP you do get, get the Tactical version, either USPT or USPCT
>>
>>27922843

>>27922734
That was me, The compacts had less felt recoil, but were slower to return on target. Still perfectly fine, and only a 1 round difference. Also the compact can take P30/VP40 mags, which are starting to get cheaper.

P2000 too, its better and sleeker. It just can't use a safety is all.
>>
>>27923053

I did look into it, but I much prefer the decocker position on the USP (and I've wanted one since I was 10 years old thanks to Rainbow Six)

it will be a range gun or likely a car gun unless I end up liking it better than the P228

Look into .45 Super, OP.

It's basically identical to 10mm.

Also, this.

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/246418/lee-classic-loader-45-acp

All you need is a rubber or plastic mallet and you can roll your own. You'll be able to keep everything you need to reload in a shoebox. Here's a guy showing you how to do it. It's a 3 minute video.

http://youtu.be/noFKV8S6cnQ

You will save so much money so you can buy more guns!
>>
>>27923150
Well if you never want to put a light on it and have it holstered with that light, then it will be fine.

I love my USPs but finding light bearing holsters for them is a pain in the ass.

>>27923426

>>
>>27915519
There was no such thing as a standard pistol rail when the USP came out. All of their new guns use standard ones.
>>
>>27923703

Maybe this is a dumb question, but why doesn't HK just make a new mold for their USPs and put a picatinny rail on it? Seems odd that they continue to produce an outdated design feature.
>>
>>27923774
It is a dumb question, because they already made new handguns.
>>
>>27923812

An HK45 is a shittier version of the USP that holds less rounds because "mah ergonomics." Their new guns, except for the VP9, are backward steps with less capacity than the USP models.
>>
>>27915576
Yes. It is my winter carry OWB. I could not see it being at all comfortable to stuff in your pants. There cant be a way to conceal it without a cover garment anyway so you may as well OWB it.
>>
>>27923842
They have the same capacity as the USPs.
>>
>>27923812

You do realize that companies can improve existing product lines, right? Especially a fuckign plastic gun, jesus, how hard is it to just bring it to the 21st century? Not that I really care, I'm not an HKfag with their dick in my mouth.
>>
>>27923853

Good buy, decent price for that package.
I would have skipped the LE package though because I don't like the MEPRO sights and would rather spend them on Heinies or Trijicons, but they're still functional and I have them on one of my USPCs.

Next you'll need a compact. Snag a stainless while you can.
I have a USP and USPC in 9mm/black and one USPC in 9mm/stainless. Hoping H&K produces some full sizes in stainless again so I can round that out.

If/when I do buy a .45 H&K, it'll probably be a HK45C though.

I got lucky basically.

I went to a gun show once. Walked around a bunch, couldn't find one.

It wasn't that busy (morning) and a guy had a table for his range and other services (driving a tank/full autos).

The guy says to me, "You look like you're looking for something."

I say, "I am actually, but no one has one."

He asks me what I'm looking for.

I say, "I'm looking for a HK USP 45 Tactical."

He says something like, "Really? I might be able to help you."

I say "oh yeah?"

He says, "yeah, I'm an FFL, but it's my personal firearm so I can sell it to you."

He says, "$900, 2 mags, great condition."

Knowing what a USP costs, I'm like "sold!"

He said I'd have to come back the next day because he'd have to get it.

Asks me if I want anything else. I'm like, idk, maybe an AK for cheap or something.

He says, "I have an AMD-65 I'll sell you for $350 if you want. I can bring it with the USP if you want to at least look at it."

I say sure.

Come back the next day to the gun show, he has the USP, great shape. I look at the AK, also good shape.

Tell I'm I'll take both. Give him cash. Walk out of a gun show, private sale, with a new USP Tactical and an AMD-65 AK.

And that is the story of my first gun purchase.

This was like 5 years ago or so.

Yes, my first gun purchase was a USP Tactical.

No regrets. It was a great decision. I got a great deal.

Some years later now, I'm currently waiting for my stamp for a Silencerco Octane 45 HD for the USP.
