Found this old Winchester 1901 in grandpa's wardrobe, it's not really in the best condition, quite rusty. I have no idea with guns, let alone pricing them, how much do you think this old one is worth like this? More pictures soon.

maybe take pictures with something other than potato, so we can easier see the condition it's in?
>>27908162
Any idea on the year of manufacture?
Also it looks like a Winchester 90, not a 1901

Might be the same gun.
Price gets pretty high if it's in good condition. 1000+

Also I should add, don't sell it you fucking asshole. Why would you sell your Grandpa's shit (especially guns) unless you were incredibly hard up for cash?

>Selling a heirloom
Go fuck yourself with a broomhandle you spoiled shit.

This. If you ain't sucking dick yet, things aren't bad enough.
Keep it, value will increase with age. Take it a gunsmith for a cleaning... ask for a good preservative. Cosmoline kept Russian gear perfect for decades.
Store in somewhere safe.

I don't see him saying he had any interest in selling it.

> how much do you think this old one is worth like this
anon pls

You can buy spray on cosmoline now. You can buy the old solid shit by the barrel too.
>>27908188
Not gonna sell it just want to know how much it's worth. Also you are right, it's a 1906
>>27908196
>He was thinking about it!
I gots that ESP.
>>27908200
I take it you don't have your property insured.
>>27908192
I will, don't worry, also with this condition, how much would a repair (or renovation, I don't even know what you'd do to this) would cost?
>>27908200
I don't know about guns, but since this one is arround 100 years old I think fixing it would be more expensive? I don't know, I want to have an idea before I go to talk to anyone, last thing I want is getting scammed off by an ass

Rust Brown it.
It's half way there already.
>>27908216
1906 is the model number, not the manufacture date.
>>27908183
According to the serial number it's from 1890
>>27908218
Flashless picture, for comparison
>>27908214
Hmmm....
Maybe you should TAKE IT TO A GUNSMITH.
Trust me. It's the best advice you'll get on /k/.

And not just any gunsmith at a pawn shop. An actual professional.
Tell him you don't want it's antique value ruined but you want it cleaned up best as possible.
Remove the wood and soak it in penetrant. PB or kroil. Something thy brakes down rust. But dosent discolor metal.
