get stretchy skinny jeans for improved movement then and then throw some goretex spray so they are water repellant

and presto, you are now a fashion conscious operator. Tight pants mean tighter groupings ;)
>>
>>27906714
Decent skinny jeans have spandex in them. They fit and move fine. If they have a gusseted crotch then even better - they'll wear less.

You're not even /k/-lite if you don't have at least 8 pounds of guns and ammo on you at all times.
>>
>>27906729
Pretty much this. I'm 6'2" and have to kneel a lot for my job, I want cloth over them. Would love to get longer ones without the cargo pocket, but I actually also use the cargo pocket to carry tools/hardware/supplies/other bullshit, so whatever. They are really shitty for holding mags though, because the weight seems to swing them around and hit me.
>>
>>27906480
I wear pants with cargo pockets to hold magazines so i dont have to put them in my pocket with my keys and risk scratching the shit out of em.
Hunting , it offers a small place to stuff one or two doves while hunting
I also use a pocket to pick up empty shell casings while hunting.

If you get the proper goretex it won't be a sweat trap. Only issue is that after heavy use it becomes a sweat trap due to dirt filling up the micro holes which would otherwise allow the fabric to breathe

>>

>subtropics
Don't own any cargo shorts, not a fan really. The shorts I wear are like 70's "shorts" or Rhodesian shorts, a few inches above the knee.

They're usually dressier, some I've made out of khakis and I wear them with Oxford shirts.

When pants are required, it's khakis. Denims are too hot.
>>
>>27906690
wtf year is this 1820?
>>
>>27906734
More like: How dumb/lazy are you?

Outdoor air drying is better for cloth, prevents shrinkage of new denim stuff and depending on where you live its also much faster.

Nah man. I got enough dosh but thanks to my education I refuse to spend it on things that I can have for free - like dry clothes for example.

>>27906729

I was going through the same shit, ended up just learning how to sew. Be surprised how much money I've saved with this skill.
>>
>>27907961
I air dry all of my clothes that aren't my pjs and underwear. I've noticed by doing this my clothes look better and seem to last longer then my peers.
>>
>>27908288
I've done it, a lot, it really sucks with how humid it is here. Heavy stay damp, some things smell moldy because they don't get dry fast enough. I have a drier now and it works better and is more convenient.
>>
>>27908334

I use to do that too. I have so many clothes, that I do laundry like once every two months. So trying to hang dry all that shit is a no go.
>>
>>27908348
*heavy clothes stay damp
>>
>>27908330
What kind of stuff do you sew? Clothes from scratch or modifying clothing to be better?
>>
>>27908359

Mostly modifying stuff. So usually replace the zippers with y2k zips. Reinforce stitching at places I feel will break.

Seeing as it is colder and I can now, I will usually CC a G17, did not like how the spare mag felt in my pocket.... it was bumping around with every thing. So I took my pants and in my left pocket I sewn three dif sleeves. So it'll hold my spare G17 mag, my Flashlight, my Izula 2. Which as also help to keep every thing nice and flat, not make a xbox huge wad in my pocket.

I am learning to do clothes from scratch, as well as learning how to make things from leather.
>>
>>27908395

Sorry for spelling errors and crap. Don't have my contact in atm.

That sounds really frigging handy
>>
>>27908425

It has been. I am gonna go with version 2.0 soon. Which will have a sort of elastic straps to secure it in the pocket, which will will allow me to secure my stuff, I can also throw shit into the pocket as a whole, so like my cell and crap like that.
>>
>>27906480

>>27908441

Quick draw to help explain. Bottom pocket is what it is now. Just a pocket with three sleeves sewn into it, takes up the entire pocket and now pocket is only good for that.

Top one is what I got planned. The small circles is the elastic straps to hold the items in place, still allows the pocket to be used as a normal pocket. Or a giant compartment for crap like a cellphone, or a lil note pad pad, etc.
>>
I like cargo shorts because they're good for holding cargo. Regular shorts or pants don't have enough pockets for my liking, I don't want to cram my keys, phone, cigarettes, etc all in two pockets.
The month long period of "too cold for shorts but too warm for a coat" is hell on my EDC.
>>
>>27906480

>>
Best pants...
I pretty much never put anything in the cargo part, but it breaks up the monotony of the leg so there is that...
When I try to air dry denim it comes out stiff and smells weird. Gotta have them dryer sheets on medium heat man...
>>

I'm poor, so I don't have many shorts. They're in plain colors so they go with anything. There comfy and hold everything I carry easily.
I'd much rather wear jeans or something, but even now, mid November, it's in the mid 80s here.

I can't wear cargo shorts because I am too hairy but I do love cargo pants. They are always stuffed with things for work, tools or other shit when I am at home or at the range.
everyday things I have in the pockets will be :
right top : debit card, some money (europoor so not a lot)
left top : tissues
right bottom : keys for coffee machine, alen keys, screwdrivers, knife
left bottom : job access pass (I need a couple of them), flashlight
rear right : some bandages, alcohol pads
rear left : treasure pockets : business cards, little maps, misc.

Better question is why don't YOU like cargo shorts? Maybe a motherfucker wants to be comfortable? Maybe we realize the importance and utility of extra pockets? Have you ever found random cool shit and been like "Oh, fuck. I don't have any room in my pockets to put that?", guys who wear cargo shorts don't have that problem. It doesn't matter if we find cool looking rocks, seashells or coins, we know how useful they are. You know what else? We're stylish as fuck because most cargo shorts are khakis. Quit talking about cargo shorts like they're bad.

This. I'm 6'3" 200lbs and like the length of cargo shorts. The pockets do have utility, especially if you have to carry small tools or items around. If I could get cargo shorts w/o pockets I would.

I just wear shorts most of the time because I hate jeans. I hate the feel of denim, even well worn in denim that I had to wear for years. I'm looking for some alternative trousers, but I'm hot-natured and just prefer shorts even in the winter.

Any alternatives? I'm thinking of some kind of cotton or light wool trousers.

I just bought a pair of these and im loving them, its like wearing nothing at all, and the mesh pockets make it even better.

Only complaint is that they seem to be sized 4 number sizes (2 sizes) too small. My normal waist size is a 32, and I had to get like a 36 just for a decent fit.

They also had a more professional looking pair that were made of thicker material, but those again were 2 sizes too small and narrowed incredibly at the ankles, they looked like girl pants in the mirror.

I also have a pair of REI pants made out of a similar ultra light material but I found that after repeat washings it starts to feel like tent material and the color changed to a greenish hue, so I'm hoping that the columbia pants will hold up better over time.
