Ukrainians seem to have some comfy AFV aftermarket tank customization.

A nearly empty fuel tank is actually more likely to explode than a full one. 10% full is optimum IIRC.

Enjoy your firey death trap.
>>
>>27844217
The steel/diesel/steel does works as composite armour.
>Particularly against shaped charges, large depths of a mildly resistant liquid are an excellent protection mechanism, with actually a higher resistance per unit weight of material than steel gives, diesel fuel having about 3.1 times as much resistance per unit weight as steel.

OP's pic related is an Mt-Lb.
gas tanks are in the rear compartment. The guys getting a ride sit on gas tanks and lean against gas tanks.
The sloped armor you see is where the gas tanks are mounted to.

So? In the Bradley the gas tanks are literally at head height if riding in the back.

Where else you going to put the damn things if you want to keep a compact design?

You do realize there are no gas tanks mounted on Mt-Lb back doors? That was my point all along, the passengers use tanks as seats. It's the BMPs and such that have back door moubted gas tanks.

In my conscription all four gas tanks were also always filled up, in reply to the guy who said the backdoors would only be filled during marches.

It's a boiling vessel, aka, a hot water heater. All militaries have something like this.

You'd put the world to rights every night. We'd lie in the pitch black and talk about everything from the war and politics of it all, to what we'd do when we got home, to just random bizarre nonsense.

It was when you'd get up for a piss in the middle of the night, and you'd bump into someone also up. Two of you would stand and stare out at nothing and just talk in a low murmur about how everyone was feeling, how morale was, etc.

Lots of deep silences.

I miss it. It was the best time of my life, not for the hero shit, that was all nonsense, but life was so very simple when you were out there.

For some reason I thought we were talking about BMPs. I apologize, I was tired as fuck this morning.

>In my conscription all four gas tanks were also always filled up, in reply to the guy who said the backdoors would only be filled during marches.

That might be true for Finnish units, but according to the Warsaw Pact BMP crewmen (we are talking about BMPs, right?) I've spoken to, heading into combat with filled rear tanks was a big no-no.

Your job must be awesome! How do you like the MT-LB? I admittedly know little about them.

Tanks aren't used for riots. Lightly armored JEEP's and such are for Molotovs. Hamas and HEzballah have Kornets alright.
>>27849415
It's not meant to carry anyone in in a taxi way. This option is reserved to situations where you're already low on ammo (and as resolute have opened up some space) and there are wounded that need extraction- so the tank can take them when it goes to rearm.
>>
>>27848935
I mean, you could fit a squad in there. It would suck, but they wouldn't need to worry about small arms fire so it does the job alright.
>>
>>27850129
Not a myth. Only the implication of it being a Brit exclusive, now that's the myth. IIRC US Army liked it so much they copied the exact design and put it in their Brads and Abrams'

Usually the websites track if the users run adblock or not. I know Twitch.tv does this, so the streamers don't get paid for viewers who run adblock since the ads they play don't show up for those viewers.

Might be different with normal websites though, idk

You don't remove the ammo for the sake of taxi. the idea was that when you run short/out, instead of saying "oh well, my job here is done" and that's it, the tank could still offer options on the field.
it's utilizing all that you got and seizing any opportunity. Squizing more juice than what the fruit has in it- and that's smart if you ask me.
