So my wife is pregnant with our firstborn. Today at the hospital tour/dry run, she was talking to some yoga freak north face wearing libtards when decided to tell them, in tones loud enough that the entire group could hear, that we have a "vast arsenal and definitely exercise our Second Amendment rights." Before I could choke her, she also let everyone know that we keep a gun in the car at all times.
This isn't the first time she's violated opsec. I love her /k/. Before she got pregnant she didn't do shit like this. But her brain is fucked these days. I heard her refer to the "siberian peninsula" the other day and this morning she tried to tell me "ridiculatory" is a word. Does it get better?

My first was born 5 months ago. The first two weeks are a vague blur. My advice: figure out a schedule ahead of time. I took a few months off, so I was awake at night and the wife during the day, so we had 24/7 coverage of the baby. Before we figured that out, we tried to sleep together and it just made us both zombies.

Does anyone have advice for how to approach talking to my gf about general common sense when talking to friends about our guns, in an 'opsec' sense?
I'm inclined just to straight up tell her 'Hey, I noticed you've talked about xyz, stop it', but since this is a wives/gf & guns thread you all know that whatever I think is simple and straightforward will probably blow up in my face.
She's smart enough to not mouth off about it to strangers, but sometimes if we're out with friends and somehow the topic of guns or gun control gets brought up, she manages to mention something. It could be that I bought her a gun for Christmas, or what I keep loaded at my house for HD, or just how many guns I own in total. She doesn't mean anything by it, and she isn't totally overboard about details, but I would prefer she just didn't say anything at all unless directly asked.
I dunno, as I type this I feel like it could be just me being paranoid, but I was raised to not talk about our guns with anyone, unless they were out shooting with us, and even then it didn't get brought up unless we were actually out shooting. So instead of re-typing this I'll just also ask if I'm being overly paranoid.
When I say 'friends', I do mean very good friends and I don't have any friends I can't trust, but I also don't run around announcing my every gun purchase or supply details on where and in what loaded condition I keep my guns at home.
She has a massive internal locus of control (as do I), so I have to tread lightly or else she'll feel like she's done some terrible thing by talking about guns, and I don't want to scare her into being a super-secretive paranoid gun owner.
Yes, I do feel like part of this is my fault for not properly having the 'opsec conversation' (if that's what it's called) when I gave her her first gun for Christmas. That's part of the reason I'm asking now, so I don't fuck it up again.

My uncle used to have a really nice collection of hunting shotguns and rifles, but they were stolen and police determined it was likely by someone who had been in the house previously and somehow found out they were there, since they were the only thing missing and nothing else in the house was disturbed.
My father has also had two revolvers go missing, and there's never been a sign of a break-in. One was a really nice revolver from the 50s. I really hope he just forgot where he put it since he's getting pretty old.

That was one of my jobs when i started at the can plant and let me tell you everyone who got a job there is only able to if they are referenced by one of the more outstanding employee(s) (Outstanding is considered working above proficient levels for at least 5 years and everyone likes you). The only reason why I even had a shot at getting that job is because my dad has done almost every job for the there and has literally worked on building and rebuilding each and every line for the 22 years he has worked there. And it helps my grandfather, who got my dad the job when started, has been working there for 39 years. Good jobs are only given to people who know the people who work at those places, business don't hire random shits so they have excellent employees put their rep on the line to guarantee good applicants are selected.

There's a few companies that sell them. The best known is probably Berkey. There's also AquaRain and Katadyn. It's hard to say which company is definitively "best" even after I did a lot of poking around for info, I'd look at all of them and decide what you like.
Mind, I still think it's smart if you were to need to take water that is entirely shitty for drinking, to boil it or use a chemical water purifier in addition to the filter.
