>never jams
>can pull back hammer for more accurate first shot
>only safety is the trigger
>ten times sexier than that slab of black plastic you own
>did I mention it comes in .357?
Open carry state here.

Can score head shots all day at 25 yards, so I don't need 30 round mags.
Carry mostly on large property, back woods & BLM trails

Why shouldn't pic related be my sidearm /k/?

Do you own one? Drawbacks?

Opinions on which company makes the best 8-shot wheelie gun?
>>
>>27791523
Taurus has some hit-or-miss QC though it has gotten better in the last couple years (used to be absolute shit).

Personally I own a Ruger Security Six and I wouldn't trade it for anything (well, except for an MR-73). If you like it, use it. Fuck the haters.

Doesn't mean they never malfunction

No, a hair trigger for a lighter trigger pull. Doesn't make you anymore accurate. That's on training.
>only safety is trigger
And that varies from several other guns how?
>sexier
So you want a gun for looks, not function?
>.357
Which is going to have more recoil and a louder, brighter flash, which means that it's gonna be trash at night or inside.

I didn't say that. With the hammer back there is less trigger travel, which for me results in more accurate shots.

I already own 3 plastic black guns, so I'm not a semi-auto hater.
Others than that thanks for the critical input.

Fuddlore.

Open carry. Or as I like to call it "HEY GUYS I'VE GOT A GUN SHOOT ME FIRST IF YOU'RE PLANNING ANYTHING."
>>

Well it doesn't. It might malfunction but it can't jam.

Can't have a failure to feed or a failure to extract (a 'jam') if it doesn't feed or extract
>>
>>27791793
If we want to get really pedantic, it just doesn't *automatically* extract anything.
>>
Anyone who says a revolver never jams hasnt shot it enough.
These guns has major and minor issues all the time.
Recoil is heavier, they have a backblast that limits defensive carry close to the body. . The gun and ammo/ speed loaders are bulkier/heavier.
I cant follow up shots on shoot as fast as i can on a SA. No full auto options. Barrel swaps are more difficult. Lubricating ammo casing.

Every gun has its pros and cons. Most guns have a purpose.

This is why "Find a Flaw" threads on K are asinine
>>
>>27791843

This, once a revolver is fucked, it takes either the manufacturer or someone with delicate skill to repair.

Single action revolver master race.
>>
>>27791843
I've put thousands of rounds through my 686. It has never malfunctioned. Of course, it could malfunction of the timing was off or the pin failed to strike with sufficient force, but it is less likely to experience a malfunction than a semiautomatic. Both these types of weapons are solid and have their advantages and disadvantages.

However, a revolver will never *jam* because it's not an automatic.

Are there any wheel guns worth buying that can also fire 410 shells? I know the Taurus judge can, but I also know Taurus is generally not that great. (Or just shit)

Smith and Wesson did a rip off called the Governor. I'd rather own a Smith over a Taurus.

In extremely rare cases, the bullet case or primer can move back just a tiny bit which causes the cylinder to seize up like a bitch. This happened to me when I was shooting a heritage .22 revolver.

Smith and Wesson Governor. I have one. Fun as fuck to shoot. Especially where you mix it up between .410, .45 colt, and .45 ACP. The different recoils are hilarious.

They're really bulky. If you want stoppin' powah get a 1911 or glock 21 with a .460 rowland conversion. It will not be as huge but give more power than .357.

>thinking you are going to get a clear lined up shot to make your head shot
>confident enough to only use 8 rounds

Anon, you're being intellectually dishonest if you think you can hit a moving/in-cover target with only 8 shots. Conceal Carrying revolvers, although the "cowboy/outlaw" appeal they have is cool, in a situation where a fire fight breaks out; your revolver is going to run out of ammo fast. Good luck with that confidence though.
>>
>>27791523
I've got the S&W 686 plus with a 6 inch barrel. It's a 7 shot, accurate as fuck and sexy as hell. I could CC it if I got the right shoulder rig, but for me it's more of a range toy and innawoods gun. If you like it and trust it fuck the haters man your gun and you're personal defense are your choices.
>>
>>27793965
Everything Taurus produces is shit.

Taurus:
Pot-metal and springs pulled out of an old mattress hammered together by drunken Brazilians into something that roughly resembles a firearm.

>>27791783
Quit being a Technical Tom. You know he means that if you're life depended on hitting a target at say 20 yards on the first shot, would you use SA or DA? Obviously most would use SA because they TEND to perform more accurately than they would using only double action. Are you trying to be all nit-picky and get him to respond? You know what he meant, quit being annoying.

>>
>>27795010
But a firearm's accuracy is mechanical. It's just as accurate with a 9 year old girl holding it as it is when a vice is holding it. The firearm can have a better trigger to help the shooter be more precise, but the trigger does nothing to increase accuracy.

I've owned seversal taurus handguns over the years and unless I just got lucky I find them well made. Never had any problems that weren't caused by bad reloads.
Can I ask if you yourself have had problems related to production of one of their weapons or are you repeating rtghings you've heard.I know you well enouigh to know you're a knowledgeable gun owner so that statement seems strange from you.

.44 magnum or bust you pansy faggot.

i had one. it was accurate enough, but it "jammed" constantly. the cylinder gap was too small (read: none) and it was impossible to get it to revolve to the next round without both hands. was much worse with lead, but did it occasionally with jacketed. its someone else problem now, and i have upgraded to based gp100. skip the taurus

>>
>>27791766
Yes, it can. If a revolver gets dirty enough the friction can stop the cylinder. I a bullet isn't seated properly in the cartridge it can stop the cylinder. If the primer isn't seated right it can stop the cylinder.

>>27791793
You can have the cylinder fail to rotate if the gun's too dirty or if the ammo's fucked up. That would result in what is a revolver's equivalent to a failure to feed.

Seriously, do all of the people who spout this crap just not own any revolvers?
