Once the F-16 is out of the equation then what plane is the US going to sell to pleb-tier air forces?

The F16.

That plane is going to last longer than the new strike bomber coming out.

>One day in the future we will look back on the F-35 like we do the F-4 and think of it as obsolete and only for countries with not much money
>>

That's more or less what the Block 60+ is for.
>>
They'll probably start buying Chinkshit.
>>
>>27791283
How expensive is a Blk50+ F16, anyway
>>

>That's more or less what the Block 60+ is for.

For what kind of realistic time-frame?
>>
>>27791259
The F16V (Viper) is now avariable, both as an upgrade kit and as a "new" airplane..

F-35, pleb plane for pleb air forces.
>>
>>27791259

The F-16 isn't out of the equation at all. Lockheed is still supporting it.

For countries that need a cheap fighter, the F-16 is still a very promising choice.

Pleb plane, God-tier maintenance costs.

>For countries that need a cheap fighter, the F-16 is still a very promising choice.

Well, that's essentially everybody then. The majority of air-forces won't ever need a bells and whistles F-35.
>>
>>27791259
F-35.

But seriously probably the F-16. It will never die.

>Cheap
>Latest sale of Blk.61 F-16s was for ~$200 million/per
>>
>>27791878

I thought the unit cost of an F-16 was under $20 million? Why are unit costs for fighter planes so confusing?
>>
>>27791887
Because there is unit cost, flyaway cost, R&D costs, support costs..

None of which are necessarily the same, even between the same metrics.

The under $20 Million cost was in 1998 dollars, and only for a Block 25 aircraft.

Maybe this if it gets some bvr weapons systems

Rafale is also retard expensive.
>>
>>27791359
The V just started testing. It's avionics and radar will be available very soon though.
>>
A new F-16 will run $70m+. Anyone looking for an inexpensive Western fighter will be limited to the Gripen or T/FA-50. Or maybe a used F-16.
>>
>>27795147
Meeeehhh, Gripen NG is being estimated at $113USD.
