I've been torn between getting a P226/P229 or a P30/P30L

I've been torn between getting a P226/P229 or a P30/P30L for a while now and finally decided to get a P30.

What are the chances that anyone offers discounts on HK products on black friday? I've never bought any firearms on black friday before, so I'm just curious of whether I should buy it now or wait it out for a better deal.

All I can tell you is I fucking love my 229. However, right now I'm trying to decided between the Sig P224 or the HK P2000 SK for my CC. Both are great, but I'm leaning towards the 224 for more capacity and thinner body.

My main carry gun is a P239. I've had a P220 and a SP2022 that I have regrettably sold. I was set on picking up a MK 25 or a P229, but then I started thinking about HK and how I haven't owned one yet.

I may yet again change my mind, but as long as it's DA/SA, I'm okay with either Sig or HK.
>>
>>27791231
I have a huge DA/SA boner too man. Was looking at the CZ 2075 Rami BD, but I decided against it.
>>

I even had a PPQ that I sold after I bought a Glock. The Glock is nice, and I can appreciate the pros and cons to striker, but I learned how to shoot DA/SA and I prefer them. Plus I think they are sexier guns. I miss my P220. I thought about going P227/HK45 route but I decided to just stick with 9mm.

So now I'm stuck between Sig and HK. Both nice guns, I just haven't owned an HK yet and don't have any desire to get a VP9.

Old fag here,
I've bought, sold, shot and carried more handguns than I can remember.
P2000 so far has been the most accurate one but it probably comes down to personal fit mostly.
My next semiautomatic will be an hk again.

I'm definately going to get a p239 despite its size because I like the da/sa on sigs

How does the sp2022's trigger compare to say a 226? Is it the same?
>>
>>27791142
OP, it's really hit or miss.
90% of the time it's just gear that gets discounted, from what I've seen.
>>
>>27791338
I liked the SP2022 a lot. I sold it to my dad and still get to shoot it. But I do have to say that while the trigger is nice, it wasn't as nice as my P239 or P220. No complaints, I just wasn't in love with the trigger.

Well last year HK did a $200 mail in rebate on certain guns. I bought this P30L new for less than what I sold this P30 for used. It was around $550 and after buying it I sold my P30 or $650.

I've owned three different P30s over the years, feel free to ask any questions you might have about them.

Good choice man. I own a P226, M11-A1, and VP9.

Sig's are great guns, probably better than the P30. However if you want to carry the gun, P30 hands down. Sigs are super fucking heavy.
>>
>>27792052
Be honest, what do you think of the triggers? That is the largest downside I can see about choosing a P30 over a P226 or P229.
>>
>>27791142
I'd get any Sig DA/SA 226/229 with SRT over a P30. I'd take a VP9 over a 320.
>>
>>27792052
mayhaps its my autismo, but it really bugs me that the cartridges are loaded backwards in the mag

>>27792290
But is the Sig better quality as a whole or is it just the trigger?

I loved my PPQ, but it just didn't fill out my hand as nicely as my Glock 19, even with the large back strap. I like that the P30 offers more grip panel options than the PPQ and can make it fit my hands better. Both the P30 and the P229/P226 feel great, but I gotta give it up to the P30 for being lighter.

I've had one V3 (DA/SA) and it was meh. Not bad, not great, just an average DA/SA trigger.

I've had two V1s and I am a huge fan of the light LEM triggers. They take some getting used to as they're kinda weird but once it clicks they're very nice. When I bought my first P30 one of the guys behind the counter actually carried a V1 P30 in .357 Sig and let me shoot it at the range next door to get a feel for the light LEM trigger. It was different but I like it. I'd highly suggest at least trying the light LEM trigger before committing to it as some people just hate them. But, again, after I got used to it I love it.

I've got the p229 and absolutely love it. By far one of my favorites.
>>
>>27792430
That's a tough one, sig's all metals feel really nice but I'm not sold on the quality of manufacturing anymore. I think the p30 trigger sucks but that's preference.

If you want a nicely finished reliable fun with a good trigger then I would say vp9 or start swapping trigger parts on the glock. If you don't mind buying a safe queen until it's really proven itself, that legion 229 seems really cool. Grip panels and all that shit just seems too gimmicky, I like glock and smith's approach of offering three sizes.
>>
>>27792679
I get so annoyed having to explain LEM triggers to people. I actually get people who argue with me when I say its not a real DAO.
>>
P30 fucking sucks in comparison to a p229 or even p239.

Not even fanboying I own a vp40 and mark23 but the p30 has got to be one of hks worst offerings. The trigger is that bad.

I'll stick with my 239 or 229 all day even with the weight.

That said the one gun I'm looking for is a p224 with a small pinky extension

After I went to Cabelas and dry fired a P30 I made a post with this image making fun of people just like you.

If you do get a P30 i recommend a light firing pin block spring. The one that comes in almost all HK pistols is pretty stout and you can drop the trigger pull and lighten up the first part of the trigger pull with one of these.
