Is 5.45x39 ammo hard to find or should I just get a 7.62x39 AK?

Is 5.45x39 ammo hard to find or should I just get a 7.62x39 AK?
Are 5.56 AKs even worth it?
Id rather get an AK over an AR since I don't like barbie guns.

5.45 is definitely not as common as 7.62x39 that you can buy at wal-mart. If it's your first AK, I recommend 7.62 all the way.

>Are 5.56 AKs even worth it?

In my opinion, no.

Through the magic of the internet, neither is hard to find. A lot of places carry 545, but less than 762 for obvious reasons.
>Are 5.56 AKs even worth it?
Mine works fine, and offers a lot more ammo choices than either of the others.

Why are all AK owners stupid memelords?

I dont own an Ak
and if id pick up an ar it would be just as plane jane as an ak id pick up.

5.45 is ballistically superior though as long as you don't have a mini barrel, so if you have easy access to the ammo go for a 74.

I don't know, but it's pretty embarrasing how other ak owners are apparent retards that don't know how a google function works.

Oh well, more 5.45 for me to buy I guess

5.56 reporting in, mine works but it was expensive getting magazines.

As for 5.45 it's still readily available for under $0.5 a round but not every store will have it.

Arsenal SLR104 vs FIME/'Arsenal' SGL31-68?

Having a hard time passing up a russian manufactured 5.45 AK. Is the bulgarian arsenal better?

what's the price on the sgl?

It would all depend on a few things
>do you want to put wood on your 74?
>do you want to try to put together an all russian ak for the cool factor?
Get the sgl31 then, they're arguably slightly better made.

But the maint factor is the price, sgl's in general go for $1,200+ just because they're banned. You're better off with the slr104 but if the sgl is in the 800-1000 range I would buy it imo
