I know there are many who have served in America's armed forces on this board. I picked up a patch like pic related yesterday because I thought it looked really cool and because sc/out/
I was wondering if it would be offensive to sew such a patch on a hat, considering neither I nor any of my family members have ever been scout snipers. I realize any patch has some meaning to people but I was wondering if this was as innocuous as it seems.
bump for an answer.

someone might accuse you of stolen valor. But i would't worry about it to much OP. Just dont go flashing it everywhere and you should't have a problem.

I was just going to put it on a blank canvas baseball cap I have, to wear around town. Seems like I might look like an asshole
>>27787317
Personally, I wouldnt. Mostly because I don't want to deal with the overreacting "stolen valor!" guys.
The only "military patch" I wear on my gear is a Night Nine patch which is a completely fictional group.

Yeah, I feel funny about it considering I haven't earned it at all. Just bugs me because I would only wear it out of admiration, respect and reverence but I guess you wouldn't want to go around wearing hells' angels patches in reverence either

Come on now, its because youd like people to make assumptions about you. Not "reverance"
