One of the dumbest things about it was how all of its various shortcomings seemed to work in tandem to make it a supremely poor design. The extraction system for instance relied on two spongy pads filled with lubricant just before the chamber to lube cases as they went in, because it had really weak primary extraction and cases would get stuck unless lubricated. But the way the breach and open bolt were positioned left those pads pretty well exposed, so they would get dirty very quickly and stop working.
