Anyone shoot a handgun in 22? I know its more for beginners and the like, but I'm looking at it as a more cost effective way of just getting in range time/plinking with a handgun
Why is it for beginners? .22 guns are used in the olympics, maybe its for beginners according to hurrdurr muh freedomz muricans.

I've got a Ruger Mk3 that I shoot occasionally. It's massive and heavy for a .22, but pretty accurate, can reliably put holes in a 2 inch circle at 30-40 yards.

for a lot of reasons, many of them appreciated by the Olympics.

True. I just mean that it's more used for teaching proper mechanics and are easier to hit targets since its a gentler caliber.
Like I said, I just want a cheap range toy that I won't spend a fortune on.

Yeah. It's a good way to practice/play for less $$$ than a full caliber handgun.
I love my sr22, it's just kindof a perfect size. It's small, but feels like a "real" gun. It doesn't feel like a plastic toy like some other cheaper ones I've used.
Eh... I want to trick out some 22/45 with scopes and cowboys holsters but never shoot my 22's much anyway.
Can't remember when / where I read the stat but isn't the .22 responsible for the most deaths world wide year in & year out?
Plus .22, silencer, sub-sonic ammo = movie quality silencer, it's really cool

.22 is used in the Olympics because that's all most counties can get.

If you're punching a ton of paper .22 is GOAT. I've shot several times more rounds through my .22 rifle and revolver than through all the rest of my firearms combined excluding my trap shotgun.
Hunting small game with .22 is a blast too.
Is this a troll thread?

It's by far the most shot all over the world, so it makes sense that it kill the most people (accident or not)
