CZ's if you want all metal gun for upper $500's
FN FNX will hover a bit below or into $600
Beretta m9's will teeter towards upper half $500 while their PX4 Storms teeter towards bottom $500
Unless you're going for the absolute cheapest gun that'll go bang.

I got a 9e for 320 bucks, real nice gun. Put a few hundred rounds through it so far, really accurate, points well and good trigger too. I've had one failure to eject with Remington white box 9mm.
