For 169.99 you can get this thing that puts out a solid amount of thunderplugs. Is it shit? Kinda. Is it worth it? Fuck no. You can get an old .38 revolver for like 40 more dollars and that'll work much better.

I disagree with you. the old smith and wesson police pistols are not rated for modern ammo.
OP if you can afford a hi-point get one. They do the job. They are reliable as fuck and come with a no questions asked warrantee that doesn't even require you to have the receipt.
Hi points are the best you can get for that kind of money.
