New MachineGUN thread since the last one was deleted.

If we win this court case machine guns could be registrable just like SBR's and Supressors.

There are two cases against the ATF right now, the original, Hollis v. Holder and Watson v. Holder.

Court case files are viewable accessible here:
http://www.scribd.com/NoloContendere
>>
It says machine gun, but will this include SUB machine guns? I really want to trade my ps90 in for the real deal.
>>
>>23947315
You won't win.
I hate that, and hate the reasons you won't win, and I wish you would win, but facts are facts.

This. Shall not. Pass.
>>
>>23947332
You would be able to file your ps90 just like you would an SBR and then convert it.
>>
>>23947315
so, how does that work on the first shot?
>>
>>23947332
There's literally no difference per the mechanical definition.
>>
If this passes, I will join several others on /k/ who have sworn to eat a literal 10-gallon hat and/or fedora (they know who they are).

I'm not exactly hopeful enough to start looking up recipes for hats.
>>
>>23947354
You pull the ring and keep pulling.
>>
>>23947332
There's no such thing as "sub machine guns" in legal terms. If a weapon is capable of select fire, it is a machine gun. Barrel length is not important if it is a machine gun.
>>
>>23947354
You pull the ring with your finger and keep tension on it. When the bolt slams back forward it pulls the trigger again for you.
>>
>>23947354
>Pull handle back

>let it go

I would like to know why my last thread was deleted 12 hours after creation. Too many false report from haters?
>>
Alright, put up, /k/.

IF this passes, what ridiculous, uncomfortable, and/or unpleasant thing will you do to offer up your humiliation and pain in thanks to the Murdercube (and the amusement of the board)?
>>
I wonder how many people would use this to form 1 their machine guns that they had hidden away for so many years.
>>
>>23947494

Gorillions, probably.

How can anyone think either of these ridiculous cases has a snowflakes chance in hell? What does suing the attorney general even have to do with repealing a congressional amendment anyway?

you my friend just posted the stupidest comment on /k/ all day.... and that is a hell of an accomplishment.

Not saying I would do this, but I know people who would.
>>
>>23947352
Think FN would sell the convert kits? They routinely defend it saying the parts are non interchangeable.
>>
>>23947540
The same way DC vs Heller shitcanned the requirement of trigger locks because it makes it impossible for citizens to use arms for the purpose of self-defense on a constitutional basis.

kek
>>
>>23947560
You don't need a conversion kit.

Gen 1-2 sear packs for the PS90 and Steyr AUG had all the parts needed for fully automatic fire.

Rules were changed by the ATF and redesigns had to happen, along with the ban on open bolt semi auto FFP designs.
>>
This may be somewhat related.

I have a friend, we'll call him John Boy, who, theoretically, wants to sell someone else a pre-ban select-fire mini 14. What would this someone theoretically need to do to make this sale legal?

Cant really do anything with an unregistered AC-556 other than put it back in the attic.

The receiver is heavily modified and in the ATF's words "once a full auto always a full auto".

Its not as simple as a trigger pack swap with a semi auto either because you have the link and hole still exposed.

Hope that answered your question.
>>
>>23947834
According to him the weapon is registered, he just doesn't have a class 3 license anymore. For the price and description it sounded like it was one of the 'law enforcement only' versions from the late 70's or early 80's.
>>
>>23948020
There's no such thing as a "class 3 license".
>>
>>23948020
Well considered there was never such a thing as Class 3 license that wouldn't matter.
>>
>>23948043
>>23948059
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Firearms_License
Guess again.
>>
>>23948145
You don't seem to know the difference between a Federal Firearms License and a Special Occupation Tax Class.

1) SOT Classes are not licenses. They are endorsements upon a Federal Firearms License.

2) SOTs are not required to own NFA items. SOTs deal with the people who buy, make, and sell them as a business.
>>
>>23948145
>>23948179
Anyway, before you try to fight that fact that you aren't correct, I'm just going to give you the answer:

If you are actually talking about the fact that your friend has an NFA item but lost the tax stamp/form 4 to it then he has one option. That option is to certify mail a request to the Chief of the NFA division of the ATF to crosscheck their NFA registration database with the item's serial number. The ATF can then confirm it is on there and mail him a copy of their copy of the Form 4 used to obtain it.

Now if he isn't sure it was actually registered, do not do this because then he has admitted guilt to owning an unregistered NFA item and it's time to go to federal prison.
>>
>>23947601
I read the complaints section in op's link now let me see if I have this right.

Hollis's demands are basically that law enforcement stop enforcing 922(o), or that the court rule 922(o) does not prohibit a trust from making a new MG in the first place, based on a bunch of reasons including the NFA is unconstitutional and always has been, an unincorporated trust is not listed under the definition of a "person" in the GCA and so is not prohibited from making a new MG, and the ATF approved his form 1 and then un-approved it which he says is a violation of his 5th amendment rights.

Who actually decides this though? Just a judge? Do both sides just keep appealing until it goes to the supreme court? I'm really interested to see the defense to this.
>>
>>23948302
You know the DoJ will not rest until they are told they are right and neither will the other side so this will either end up at the Supreme Court or the court right below it if the Supreme Court denies to hear it.
>>
Reminder that you have Tripfags on this board and writing for gun rags who think that their investment is more important then your rights.

No, I'm just giddy that Alex is finally showing his true colors again. Many moons ago Alex used to trip as The /k/ommando and regularly spouted some pretty intense anti-gun (or rather anti-gun community) beliefs. Not the kind of trolling shitposting I do, but legitimate beliefs along the line of "Well if you can't afford a F/A you shouldn't have guns at all" kind of posting, stuff rooted in being a FA owner. Fast forward a few years and he has a job writing for a gun blog and suddenly his tune changes along with the trip, likely because he wasn't too keen on people knowing how he really felt. These cases start popping up and he winds up writing an incredibly transparent article that can basically be summarized as "Oh shit, all of my money is wrapped up in something that could be worthless over night, fuck these guys the ban will never be repealed" And despite his back tracking on statements made both here concerning how he feels about gun ownership and on that blog, namely about his financial situation and investment in pre-86 stuff it's become pretty clear he's another one that would fight repeal of Hughes or NFA because he stands to lose a LOT from it. That article was one of the worst pieces of published (on any media) I have ever seen, I thought I was reading a straight up click bait article. But as I read it then dug through the comments where people have pointed out his previous statements concerning just how invested, both financially and emotionally, he is in machineguns it's pretty clear that the tone of that article was one of genuine hope that the ban goes nowhere because he would lose his shirt, tie, and shoes.

>>23948462

It's interesting to see him no longer trying to defend himself, ever since people have brought up a few statements he's made in the past pertinent to the topic, as well as one of the attorneys making a personal appearance to defend the flat out false statements Alex made. I hope he gets sued for libel.

I love the idea of this passing, but it never will. I have a few full auto toys that I paid way too much for. I can honestly say though if they lost their value at the cost of gaining new toys at a cheap price I'm all for it. Fuck my Uzi's if it means I can get a full auto rpd and other funs.

Sadly this won't be backed by any pro gun organizations. Its not in their best interests to make their biggest donators lose money. Even if their $100,000 war relics would lose value by $2000-10000 they would still keep the collector value since they have history. Sadly that's too much of a loss in their eyes so the big picture gets ignored. Its fucking sad, my dreams of having a full fun lmg mounted on the jeeps roll cage will never happen.

you can unfuck it by looking at what i did to it:
http://www.ar15.com/mobile/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=1681489&page=64

get rid of /mobile/ and replace with /forums/t_#_#/####_.html

the 2 numbers after t are the b= and f= numbers in the url always

the long set of #'s after the / is the long set of numbers in the original url at the end, usually t=

so /forums/t_1_5/1681489_.html would be the unfucked version.

i've been doing this for years because they dont let plebes sign up with free emails.

Probably the only guy on /k/ who gets the Thompson's FAS younger brother, and the only thing I hear about it from him, to this very fucking day, was "The transfer for my Reising went through today". It seems so infuriatingly wasteful. Clearly you like guns, and you write for a large blog concerning them, so it's no stretch to imagine that you would like discussing guns with people.

But then that doesn't happen. That wondrous treasure trove of NFA goodness just gets displayed like so many hunting trophies. As a historian, this kind of bullshit drives me up the wall. If you have rare/interesting things that people would be interested to know more about, and you have an "occupation" (if blog writing can be called that) that would enable you to effectively and efficiently do this, you goddamned do it. Alex has not. This is like that bullshit where Arab tank officers prefer to keep all of the knowledge concerning T-72 maintenance to themselves and not pass it further down the chain of command, so as to be more valued.

The proper response for a publication, be it digital or paper, that has garnered a huge degree of backlash for one of its contributions is to delete said contribution and offer an apology. What TFB has done here is the single worst approach possible, going so far as to even leave the offending work up AND the wrathful commends intact for all to see. >That wondrous treasure trove of NFA goodness just gets displayed like so many hunting trophies. As a historian, this kind of bullshit drives me up the wall

Yeah well (history-degree and buff here) that's just too damn bad
I don't have a problem with big-NFA-collector people strutting their stuff to the dismay of us 'real historians' and lowly buffs-who-ain't-got-that-kind-of-green.

I do have a problem with a big-NFA-collector who uses a widely known USA firearm website to post what are essentially anti-gun-ownership and anti-2nd Amendment sentiments/opinions.

i.e. using that forum as soapbox, broadcast venue for his elitist "I've got mine" POV

>he's just a rich kid who is into expensive toys.
Clearly, but he's stated that he comes from a car-collecting family (can't you just -smell- the gated communities, polo shirts. and bottled-up loathing from that?). It'd be pretty easy for him to focus on cars, and sought-after cars generally don't have artificially inflated values that hinge on a federal act that could very well be overturned.

Late to the thread, but the first thing I'd do is buy two full-auto hammer packs for my FS2000 and PS90. Why 2? Why the fuck not? I'd then laugh at the retards who paid $1200 for a Gen I-II PS90 hammer pack or a Gen I FS2000 hammer pack.

I'd also pick up some DIA, some LL, and anything else required to make any of my guns (or guns I own) full-retard. Would they actually be in the rifles? Probably not, but I'd like to own them just in case.

>former fancy prep school fag
>no i am not rich, i was on scholarship and day school

Some ultra-rich people I knew in school refused to enter the same hobbies as their ultra-rich parents because they can never "beat" the parents until they died. So they went into other hobbies. It's probably a subtle expression of hatred for years of parental neglect.

>The proper response for a publication, be it digital or paper, that has garnered a huge degree of backlash for one of its contributions is to delete said contribution and offer an apology.
Absolutely
(We'll see what happens)

>What TFB has done here is the single worst approach possible, going so far as to even leave the offending work up AND the wrathful commends intact for all to see.
Indeed

>Then again, the people at TFB don't seem to know dick about handling this kind of shit...maybe it'll be a learning experience
Yeah
the guy who runs/started (not sure if he's even there anymore?) the place, always maintained that it was about
"firearms not politics"
Well this time he signed on an elitist wealthy NFA collector who strayed a bit too far over the anti-2nd line

you're still a cunt. you should be less of a cunt.

not only that, he's using it to control the thinking of the audience. defeatism is a very powerful seed to plant. it destroys support instantly.

>>23950572
cars cost way more to collect than guns. maintenance, cost of entry, etc. have you ever watched those dumb car auction shows? all original classics go for asinine sums of money.

>asinine sums of money.
A MAC-10, a shitty amalgamation of stamped metal and one of the most infamous examples of a bullet hose. goes for over $5k. That seems pretty damned asinine.

Cars may be a bit out of the league for someone with a BA in History (Alex, trust me on this, there's fuck-all you can do with that degree outside of teaching high school), but it seems odd for him to latch onto guns if he really didn't care about them. Or maybe he actually doesn't, hence the total absence of informative posts concerning his guns.

Exactly

Also reminded me of another tangential (RE: current MG market/$$ values post-1986) comment, posted on the blog article thread -

This is what irks me, a guy who clearly has little expertise on the _technical side of firearms_ (purportedly TFB's "not politics" mission),
who furthermore has demonstrated blatantly elitist views regarding basic 2nd Amendment rights
using TFB as his megaphone
at the least he should be fired on the spot (from TFB)

Also remember to mail the editor and assistant editor about having an anti second amendment cunt writer on their staff. Their information is under the contacts section.

Thank you yes,
I am sending something along the same lines to them both right now

And so should anyone reading this

The guy is their "Senior Writer" and I literally graded undergrad papers over the past week that were composed better...I think there's more in it for the staff of TFB than a few angry e-mails can overcome. And I think we all saw how practically the entirety of the editorial staff jumped into the comments to defend the article and its writer.

I'd throw something in there about how it says right on the website banner "Firearms, not politics"

the total sum matters more though... yes 5k is a lot for a stamped bullet hose...

now go price a frame-off restored numbers matching charger or something... we're talkin like 300 thousand dollars for a car that was around $3000 back when it came out... that's just from googling real fast. i'm sure you could find better examples with a little effort

he just doesn't care about guns man. some people juggle geese.
