coming from WoT, the ground combat in War Thunder feels like something of a miracle. Looking forward to some minor improvements to the physics engine, otherwise it's damn good as it is.
Too bad there aren't any serious tank sims around, unless something happened while I wasn't paying attention since the release of Blaze of War.

I unlocked the Wirbelwind, and my plane problem disappeared.
I dont make much per game, but keeping the air attacks down helps the team and such. Plus, getting that random tank kill with quad 20mm's is immensely satisfying.
It's not a bad game, but there's still some stupid bullshit going on in the air and on the ground. Also, ever since the most recent patch it's impossible to fine a historical or full real battle for tanks because Slavaboos lost the ability to have multiple tanks in a battle, so they've just stopped playing.

War Thunder is outstanding. The Brits are a good faction for newbies, Americans are fun, and the Krauts are for big rick G's.
It's fun if you're Russians or Brits. The arcade meta revolves around having the most firepower since the big-bore cannons have none of the disadvantages they do IRL. Maneuverability means nothing since everyone has similar performance.

Tier 2 with Germans can be rough, but I've had good luck with the Panzer 3 Ausf M. Surprisingly durable, and the rate of fire is great.
What helped me a lot was the inclusion of the armor and module view. Once I knew where ammo racks, engines and fuel tanks were, I have had a much easier time taking out heavy targets like KV's and Tigers. I recommend messing with the module view a bit, it should definitely help with getting more one-shot kills.

All of the FWs are pretty good for German Air, as well as all of the Dos in the heavy fighter line. For ground units, the German F2 is godly, and DO NOT underestimate the 2nd german AA gun, it can fucking wreck tanks because it fires so fast.

I don't like the fact that they added limited respawns in ground battles tbh. I get that it's supposed to ensure players act strategically during matches but for those that get unlucky or just asspounded you end up being unable to respawn when only a third of the way through. I thought the three, two and one respawn schtick they had going on for light, medium and heavy tanks was pretty good.

Depends on who you want to use, and what modes you want to play. Sim is shit. If you're going to do that, just go buy an actual sim. Arcade is okay for what it is, but still shit. Realistic is okay, but the matchmaking is terrible with 1945 aircraft going up against 1942 aircraft.
Ground forces is much the same. It's obvious that Gaijin is a company that is primarily focused on aircraft. Their basic understanding of anything on the ground is preschool at best.
