Reddit doesn't give you that option, because half the time you don't see the most popular opinions.
4chan opened up opportunities for me to get motivated to escape poverty. Gave me a place where I can browse anything on almost every topic. 4chan is my hove.

I first found 4chan 9 years ago, and over the course of about a week I browsed /b/ until I saw goatse or something else and left. Then, two years later I came back to 4chan after discovering /tg/ and /mu/, and then realizing there was a weapons board. I've actively browsing/using 4chan for 7 years, and 6 of those I have considered /k/ my main board.
Of the course of seven years and three different computers I've been here. It's frightening realizing that. I didn't even notice until a few months ago that it's been seven years. Seven years of my life I will never get back because I've spent it here.
