Nothing new's happened off in "the Zone" (particular area where I work near a place called sunk mine spring where weird shit like tommyknockers and the musical sound of blowouts happen) that I've heard about so I've got no OC this go around.

So, how would /k/ respond to pic related?

Also, general creepyshit inna woods thread. Swap your stories and theorize on how we can weaponize, contain or if we must, kill them.

Honestly, I believe most scary stories are just the product of the human mind's imagination running wild. On the flip side, I also have a firm belief that demons are present on earth and could masquerade around as who knows what, and those are the scenarios that truly frighten me.

I've seen some story on /k/ where a couple goes camping and they're followed by some rednecks yammering about on the highway

When they got to the campsite and woke up in the morning they found some signs the rednecks were there.
>>
So my grandparents live inawoods, not that thick mind you, but they're farther in than most, closest neighbors being a family of rednecks that are really close to mine. Now I have never seen anything truly spooky or supernatural up there, and my father hunter all around there when he was a kid

But I swear if you haven't been up there for your entire life for family gettogethers/ holidays, the place would look foreboding , with collapsed gold mines that look just like open graves, abandoned cars left to rust on the fuck huge hill because some relative of mine stole them in his youth. Not to mention the redneck cabin covered in wind chimes and surrounded by goats and garbage.

Now really deep in the woods, where I only went once, with my grandpa and my brothers now dead hunting dog and another female one that hates me now, is some bullshit.

A house that looks modern, that appears yo have exploded via some great force, a former boom town consumed by the forest, leaving only the stone fences that used to keep sheep in.

Not to mention a burnt out cabin my brother smoked weed in once, and felt like something wanted him the fuck out of there, but that could've been just his useless stoner ass being paranoid.

I really should go up there one day to see if I could find if any voodoo bullshit is hiding deep within the asshole of that place, So I can kill/fuck it, or get killed/fucked by it.
Any advice for how best to kill voodoo bullshit /k/? just in case, ya know

>>22702456
Yeah, it as probably the weed, but I want to check that place out, as I've always wondered what the hell it was when i was a kid

Also, most of my buddies have never been in any sort of wilderness and haven't held a real gun. Last time I took one up there, I had to resist the urge to pretend to see things in the dark because his ass was already terrified of the place and his eyes were used to the light filled city and as such he couldn't see shit.
>>
>>22702528
I agree. Really, the mundane ones are kind of like the game Slender. Nothing is inherently scary about Slender, but the player projects their fear onto it because it's more or less an unknown, blank canvas. In most cases, it's anons projecting their fear onto sounds and shadows.

Then there are the SCP level ones like >>22702488

>This photo was taken in 1895 by an amateur spelunker/photographer named Oren Jeffries while exploring an unmapped section of Grand Caverns, in Southwestern Virginia. At the time it was taken, Jeffries was conducting photographic experiments, using super long exposures to see if anything at all could be captured in the total absence of light, otherwise known as “cave darkness.” He would situate himself on level ground, extinguish his lantern, and then open the lens of his homemade box camera for as long as he could stand the darkness. During one of these experiments, he heard something approach from the deeper recesses of the cave.

>Frightened, Jeffries abandoned his experiment and set off one of the Blitzlicht flashes he used for taking traditional photos underground. According to the report he later gave to a local newspaper, Jeffries saw three “humanoid” creatures staring at him from the shadows and took off running in the other direction and didn’t stop running until he was topside. Several days later, he returned with three other men to retrieve his box camera. This is the image that was recorded on the film inside.

My theory was a wolverine. They have very large paws for walking over deep snow so they don't leave very noticeable tracks, they like to drag and bury food caches, they have a reputation for mutilating their kills in weird ways and they tend to disappear silently when people get near.

Also, I remember reading a creepypasta years ago about a guy going out into the woods and seeing some trees with huge claw marks and others that had been entirely ripped from the ground and thinking not even a large bear could have done something like that, and later on sees a huge dark figure in the distance and gets the hell out of there. Anyone have it, by chance?

They exist. They can be killed. Not easily, but if it's in this reality, it can be killed.

If you ever want to encounter a real one, I suggest the Ansonia Nature Center's back trails. Like, past the manicured paths. Into the old woods.

After 11pm. On a new moon.

You will find you're looking for or it will find you.
Bring all of the standard skinwalker/goatman/it deterrents White Oak ash, salt, etc.
And bring the biggest gun you can carry. And lots of friends with big guns and ammo.
And settle your debts with this world because chances are you will not succeed. There are dedicated groups for this sort of thing. And even they don't fuck with the old grounds. Certain ancient evils are left undisturbed

The most dangerous game happens every year, different country. There was one in Detroit a few years ago.
Men fight and hide like savage beasts when left to their own means. Once you become good enough at removing targets internationally, you may get an invitation. Maybe. The winner gets a good prize. The losers get death.

>going out for a walk with my brother
>go out prettyfar. very serene and quiet
>taking this path to this open feild near a pond we played at when we were kids, when something pokes its headaround the corner and chrages us
>startled the shit out of me, it took me a moment to relize it was a pitbull
>the thing is snarling and barking and going apeshit as it comes right as us, we try to do the whole "make yoursef appear bigger" thing and stamp out feet and yell at it
>it gives no fucks gets close enough to start biting at my brother, whos back pedalling and trying not to fall
>he finally has no other option and stabs at it with his knife (underage at the time)
>got it in the neck, its still growling but also wimpering and bleeding out
>cant just leave it, so I put it down with my ccw
>inspect it. no coller no leash. it might have been a stray (not the first time somethign like this has happeend in these woods)
>then we hear "oh, what duh fuck is dis?"
>look up where the dog came from and see a back dude, dressed in gangbanger clothing
>then 3 more appear, and they start jogging over yelling at us and calling us hillbilly crackers and theyre gonna kill us
>I draw on them, they stop, me and my bro moonwalk off the trail into the treeline to loose them
>know these woods like the back of our hands, but can hear them yelling in the distance and I swore I heard gunshots
>make it back to our car, floor it outta there

Im pretty certain we walked into a drug deal/some gangsta esque shit and killed one of their dogs

>go down there with friend to "explore"

Ever watch the movie "Sphere"?

What you read and think can become reality. Thoughts create reality. We are all connected by some kind of psychic grapevine. Your thoughts can be a fucking weapon. I was at my lowest point in life because I was in the limelight and everyone had negative thoughts about me. Even quantum physics says observation can change matter.
>>
>>22706946
Wild cats freak me the fuck out.

No fucking way they naturally evolved to create sounds exactly like a screaming woman in distress, or a crying baby.

Think about it
>>
>>22707028

They didn't evolve that, its your brain that is evolved to take notice of anything vaguely human sounding or looking.
>>
>>22707016
I think you're reading a bit too much into that concept and honestly, that concept sounds a bit loony.
>>
>>22707016
>Even quantum physics says observation can change matter.

this is a highly naieve and misinformed interpretation of what quantum physics says about observers (and it's one of the most common things gay hippies use to sound like they're mystical "scientists")

"Observing" something one way and then another in quantum physics can "change" the results because quantum physics deals with shit that's so small that most observational tools interfere with what's actually going on in the system.
i.e. If I'm observing a group of photons with my eyes, the photons will behave differently than had I not been observing, because my eye's will have absorbed some of those photons during my observation...

it has nothing to do with sentience or thought -- it's the equivalent of watching the waves on a beach, and then putting a vertical stick in the water to measure the wave pattern and then noticing that the stick itself (your observation tool) is causing a disturbance pattern.
>>
>>22707159
This is correct. Basically, it's impossible to simply observe without interfering.

Let's break it down. The Most Dangerous Game is fought on two types of terms:
>Consensual
>Non-consensual

The non-consensual games are, in a sense, much simpler. You've got a psycho, or group thereof, that has no problem stalking, terrorizing, and killing innocent people.

Of course it's fucked up and scary.

On the other hand, the consensual Games are what I would call creepy because the only difference between consensual and non-consensual is that ALL the players are consenting to that stalking/being stalked, that terrorization/being terrorized, and, of course, that kill or be killed environment.

Don't ask me who the fuck can bring themselves to engage in this shit, not to mention finding a whole fuckin' crowd of them.

This isn't to say I don't have a twisted fascination with the Most Dangerous Game.

>Tells us to hurry and run
>We do so
>During this time I keep looking up and I'm certain I see movement sometimes

>one of the guys who was on watch says he saw two legs from behind a tree
>he said they looked like horse legs but much thinner
>we think deer
>more movement
>By now we're all rushing out of there
>We're being followed
>guy in charge calls up other cadets asking if they are behind us, they say they're already at the cars
>we can't shoot whatever it is because using blanks
>by this point he's breathing extremely fast
>I still haven't seen shit
>see lights of other cadets up ahead at cars
>hear a loud screech, think zombie but louder
>window smashes on one car
>we all jump the fuck in and floor it
>a brick or didn't smash the window as there was neither inside

I woke up at about 3-4am to something ruffling in the tent with me, and this..attrocious fucking smell. I can't really describe it, It wasn't like a blood/shit smell, but just like.. Hot metal mixed with scentless raid kinda smell, and it was really quiet. There was a feminine looking figure in the bag with me going through my food, picking out a bunch of dried sausages and stuff I had with me. she realized I was awake and looked right at me with these vibrant, piercing white eyes. And after that I don't remember anything. but I woke up naked, a mile away from the camp and smelling like sex..

My only spooky innawoods story:

>Be about 50 miles from human civilization
>Been hiking all day, pretty far from my car at this point
>No trails or anything
>There's a big ass rock just chillin' in the woods, maybe 10-15 ft tall
>Walk past it
>Notice a ton of color out of the corner of my eye
>The back of the rock is fucking COVERED 100% in weird religious shit, bible verses, passages about god and satan
>But not like spray paint, it's like really fine like someone used a paint brush
>Weird ass creepy face painted like some True Detective shit
>About 100 yards away from it notice a white bra hanging on a bush like someone threw it up there

Fuck me that was weird. I know it's probably LSD'ed out hippies having sex, but it was REALLY far away from anything. And because it was 'tangible' and not 'I think I saw bigfoot in the shadows', it really unsettled me.
>>
>>22702237
We need more of these.

>notice a white bra hanging on a bush
>probably LSD'ed out hippies having sex,
Anon, hippies don't wear bras, I think you may have actually found some kinda legit creepy shit place, like where a cult dose cult things.
>>
>>22715968

It was in Colorado, about 5 years ago. It's honestly the only unsettling thing I've encountered in the woods, ever. Plus it was real and I could touch the rock and all, so it bugged me.

I didn't turn around till I saw the bra, tho. I'm glad I hadn't been target shooting, who knows what would have heard shots? I was bout to shoot some too.

>go camping with mates at a creek in our area
>get there just before sunset set up camp start getting plastered
>go on till 3 in the morning pass out
>wake up the next day go for a swim cook breaky then continue on with getting plastered
>be around midnight one of the girls in our group goes for a piss comes back screaming and crying saying she saw something in the bush watching her
>figure she's drunk and got spooked by a fox or a dingo
>she keeps crying and carrying on
>alright then
>we all split up into groups of two decided we will go look for something and play army men
>make a signal fire about 20-30 meters away from camp then split up each group going a different direction
>pack a bottle of rum, a hatchet, some jerky and some portable speakers for the walk
>set out with my mate blasting house of the rising sun looking for the peeping tom stalking our camp site
>head north to the mountain near our camp
>get to the base of it decide to stop for a piss and a smoke
>mate hangs back a bit I walk up have a piss
>see him standing in front of me about 10 meters away
>"Oi cunt if you wanted to see my dick you could've of just asked."
>Hear "What's that I couldn't hear ya?" come from behind me
>realize what ever the fuck it is isn't my mate
>notice it's got glowing eyes
>charge down the hill tell my mate to start running there's something else here
>some how manage to cover a k in 15 minutes considering we are drunk as shit and I'm a heavy smoker
>get back to the signal fire noone there
>decide fuck this we're not waiting go back to camp the others are there
>one of my mates is starring at the fire like he's having a flash back to nam
>someone asks if we saw anything out there
>I told them we saw something weird at the mountain looked like a man but taller and more bulky with glowing eyes
to be continued

yeah there is some wired shit indeed in dem woods, and out on the plains too.

What you seen/heard? People go missing in the forest (usually kids) a lot on the front range.

>we all start feeling uneasy decide to pack our shit up and go home
>get home around sunrise
>go straight to bed
>get up that arvo go for a smoke, the sun is setting gets dark all of a sudden feel uneasy remembering the night before
>wasn't able to go outside at night for a fair few weeks
>go to the pub one night with my mate
>decide to ask him what happened that night
>tells me what he saw and how it followed him
>said he hasn't be able to look outside a window at night
>older guy in the smoking area interrupts
>"you boys wouldn't happen to have been at the creek when this happened?"
Turns out there's been sightings of Yowies(Australian bigfoot) and tall man there for decades, the old guy had seen them there before as well, and as another mate informed me that this area is apparently full of Yowies or hairy men and there's been sightings here for near a century.

Never had any particularly wired shit inna woods except for looking down this old ass mine shaft or vent idk which once, could have swore I saw a copse down their, tried to go back and check with a better light and some gear but could never find the place again, could do a good green text about this time on the plains though.
>>
>>22716089

There's a shit ton of weird caves and old mines in this state. Gimme that plains story!
>>
>>22716078
I always believed there's got to be something like that out there seeing nearly every culture has their own version of bigfoot, that night sort of reinforced that for me, and finding out afterwards there's been sightings since 1900's and there is even stories from the colonists about the Abbos hunting down and killing "hairy men"
>>
>>22716091
Fellow colo fag? also typing it now.
>>
>>22716095

people been going missing mysteriously in the US forests since 1850s at least, bigfoot aside, there could obviously be some super predators running around.
>>
>>22715597
What part of Texas anon? Houstonfag here, if it weren't for the humidity i'd probably go innawoods more often, and if i had adventurous hasguns friends :-(
>>
>>22716100

Yeah I still live here, but now I just go about 200 feet into the forest and shoot, too nervous to go really far in. I also set up a radio and I NEVER go in the woods without my rifle, even if I'm going to be shooting a pistol only. Or hiking, always got my rifle.

There's too much spooky shit for it to be all faked or writefags on the internet.

fuck oath, there's even been sightings of predators in australia that are meant to be extinct mainly the Marsupial lion. I remember seeing something on Youtube about that, people going missing in national parks and forests it then got linked the native american records of some sort of big foot like animal that would take people away and eat them. Not saying it is sassy but definitely something nasty getting around we haven't found yetl
>>
>>22716121
What part of colorado. We are doing a little meetup soon and if you arent involved you should be
>>
>>22716122

yeah I also had seen the interviews with that guy about the missing in national forest, like 2-3 weeks ago. and what did i see in the news the day after I finished listening to them all?

>A Russian student who went missing in Grand Teton National Park has been found dead.
>The body of 20-year-old Aleksandr "Sasha" Sagiev was found in the park Friday. The student from Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, was reported missing Monday after going for a hike. After a three-day search, Sagiev's body was discovered below a steep traverse, known as Cache Couloir, in Glacier Gulch.
>Authorities say that when Sagiev was found, he was wearing the metallic blue "Sochi" jacket that he was last seen wearing. There's no immediate word on the cause of death.

http://www.cbs2iowa.com/news/features/top-stories/stories/missing-russian-found-dead-wyoming-29406.shtml

from other articles it has ALL the features of what the paulides guy says:

>he was found 3000 (thats thousand) feet HIGHER in elevation than last seen
>he was wearing bright clothes
>his body was found up an almost impossible incline and found by helicopter
>bad weather hit just after he went missing complicating the search
>he was alone
>went missing in afternoon
>etc etc

i never ever go into the woods if it's going to rain on the forecast, after i read those fucking books about missing people.

You would make solid cannon fodder

Good enough to earn a good k/d ratio against the enemy

Not good enough to be a real loss to the rest of society

All in all, 10/10 would commit to the meatgrinder

>go on a hike, end up out at these stone formations, idk what the fuck their called, be doing some target practice shooting at cans, fish and game officer shows up after a while, asks if I'm hunting, tell him no just zeroing my rifle, he says ok, talk for a while, hes pretty chill.
>he leaves, i look up and notice the sun is going down, start back to camp.
>starts raining, say fuck it i'm tough i can handle some rain.
>keeps raining starts lightingin too.
>get inna tent, be chililng whatching the rain.
>drift to sleep,
>get woken up by loud thounder clap.
>see large figure standing just outside the thicket in the illumination from the lighting.
>grab my AR 15 train it at the spot where the thing was.
>lightning again. things not there
>suddenly something impacts the side of my tent, hard, tent comes falling down.
>crawl out of fallen tent.
>fucking tree branch from tree next to tent.
>see movement at the base of the tree, something moving away, fast.
>hear sounds mixed in with the sound of the storm, like some kinda chant.
>fire rifle into air. sound stops.
>get rainpauncho out.
>clime up a tree with rifle and some 550 cord, sit on a tree branch and make rain tent with extra pauncho and tie my self an impromptu safety harness so i don't fall off. fall back asleep.
>wake up the next morning be looking at tent.
>notice the branch that fell doesn't look like a brake, its cut cleanly, like some one sawed it off, and its fucking thick like if I had been actually laying down instead of sitting it would have crushed me.
>nope the fuck out pack my shit and get.
I still have no idea what to make of that shit. any /k/omrads got any theorys?

once on a 5 mile hike down a trail, when i was coming down again there was a fucking tree across the trail. it wasn't there on the way up. wasn't like a forest ranger blocking off a road or something.

not a log either like a tree. fuck that.
