"Fostech Echo" ATF Letter and info
>Echo still unconfirmed for ATF approval

The ECHO Trigger is a ground breaking, drop-in design that has been approved by the ATF.
The ECHO Trigger allows the shooter to select from 3 different settings:
Safe Mode - Firearm will not fire.
Semi-Automatic Mode - Firearm fires when trigger is pulled.
Echo Mode - Firearm fires when trigger is pulled and also when trigger is released.

The ECHO Trigger is designed with safety being of utmost priority. When the operator is in the ECHO Mode and depresses the trigger one round is fired. The operator can move the selector to the safe or semi-automatic mode and a second round will NOT fire upon release of the trigger.

Features of The ECHO Trigger:
ATF APPROVED
You CANNOT out run the ECHO trigger which means hammer follow is NOT an issue.
You are always on a pull on a magazine change with the ECHO and never a release.
You can return the weapon to safe even if the hammer is forward (only AR-15 trigger with this feature)

Semi-Automatic Mode: 3.5# two stage trigger pull.
ECHO Trigger Mode: 4.0# single stage trigger pull.
Ambidextrous Safety Selector. Drop In Design Patent: US 8,820,211, US 8,667,881

Thanks for the detailed thoughts. :)
I wasn't sure what benefit 90t was over 51t, I'm not opposed to the 762SD.
I'll be putting it on my 12.5 AR most the time, but it will see use on my 20" occasionally because why not.
Going 7.62 so I can build a .300blk upper at some point and use it on that too.

Official word is that initial orders placed in Jan-Apr will face a 6 month lead time. I expect mine in October. Orders being placed today can expect delivery sometime early next year.

However, they've delayed release twice already due to unspecified "tolerance and coating" issues. The ATF letter shows approval for the patent they bought and design inspiration for their trigger, but not the trigger itself.

As of yet the trigger is NOT officially ATF approved.

i think(?) it installs more solidly. the 51t wobble doesnt fucking matter, dont listen to the autists, but i am also autistic enough that it gets on me
>I'll be putting it on my 12.5 AR most the time, but it will see use on my 20" occasionally because why not.
lol, have fun -- can on the end of a 14.5 pin or 16.1 is a fucking bitch. i love 20s, but thats gonna blow
>Going 7.62 so I can build a .300blk upper at some point and use it on that too.
yeah, again, if youre not in it to moderate report, then dont bother with the 5.56 dedicated
>Rifle looks good with the can on it, what did you do to break it?
uhhhh its light striking because i was an idiot on trigger install and need to have a smith remove the trigger pin, probably by destroying the pin itself -- not a big monetary cost, but risky / scary since its on the NFA registry and it hurts my pride

that's the old letter, it doesn't apply to the echo because of the changes made to it when they bought the idea from the guy that letter is addressed to.

as it stands, the echo is not ATF approved and it uses a 2nd sear surface which the atf supposedly will not allow anymore. highly likely this trigger will die at the ATF

I'm leaning towards the Aero right now.

Ah, so it's not a huge deal but since I don't already have mounts there's no reason to avoid it.
I Think it'll /look/ pretty good on the 20", but usability will be silly.
Mostly doing it for noise suppression, so I might get a 5.56 can and then later build a .300blk upper with a suppressor, we'll see.

Will I run the risk of failure to feed running a 16" barrel (mid-length) on a lower with a rifle stock?

I can imagine the higher gas velocity pushing the ostensibly lighter rifle length buffer at too high a velocity for the magazine to get the round ready but I'm not sure if that's likely to actually happen.
>>
>>30623537
yfw he said "who anodized it" when someone said they did their own at home

he's really fucking dumb. anodization is literally just aluminum oxide accelerated plus hexagonal pores created in the surface of the metal so it can hold a dye or paint. if you leave aluminum out to oxidize it will naturally form a protective oxide layer. it won't be as strong as a hardcoat anodize but it's still fine. its like he's never seen a type III hardcoat anodized 80% lower before in his entire life. the only exposed aluminum is the FCG pocket, trigger and selector holes. easy to alumina-black over or just let it sit in the white because it will oxidize and harden on its own

tl;dr james is a dipshit

If you had to buy a BCM KMR or a Geissele MK8 (15" guard for a 20" barrel, if that matters), which would you pick?

Sounds like the Geissele is sturdier, but the KMR is lighter. Some people on forums mentioned that the KMR can get dented and dinged whereas the Geiselle wouldn't.

I don't have a gas block yet so the free one with Geisselle MK8 makes the price difference not such an issue.

KMR feels better to me. I like skinny rails, and the mk8 has kinda crappy corners on it and is pretty fat.

KMR is made of a magnesium alloy. It's not very durable, but is super light. The KMR-A is aluminum and is significantly more durable for only about an ounce and a half more weight.

Okay. And my A1 kicks significantly less than my middy which weighs 3 pounds more.
>>
>>30623633

Thanks, got it in.

Any tips on installing a scope? PA 1-6x, first scope, I've only used rd before. I also have the PA extended mount if that matters
>>
>>30624084
Those aren't even remotely comparable though.

>>
>>30624100
Put mount on rifle, get rifle as close to level as you can, clamp rifle to something, install scope in mount.

Ideally you have a level across a pic rail on the rifle, and another on the elevation cap so you can verify they're still level as you tighten them.

By playing with it.

A cheater's method is to set it at lowest magnification, find your ideal eye relief, and move it two slots back. That should be about right for both low and high magnification. Check it anyway though.

Suppressing fire and double taps would be unmatched. If you're hog hunting a couple .223 down range in a single burst of recoil would be nice.

Video makes me red in the face fucking angry

Soon.

Those vermin won't have people or buildings to hide behind

Nah, 20" barrel is really the way to go if you don't like shitty performance. Whatever makes you happy. Plus the A4 is modular enough if you decide to change it up later but clones are cool as fuck.

Whoa, nice. A little rich for my blood, but super sleek looking.

Would you recommend the KAC micro sights? I have never used a sight like that so I was hesitant to spring for them.

>Going all out. Look at you go. I'm going to get my two were I want them then buy another lower in about a month

Choo-choo, motherfucker. I've been lurking (and gently trolling) /arg/ for about a month on and off, ever since I decided I was offended enough at our president to build/buy an AR. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I have a broadband internet connection and a decent paying job. the next week is gonna see some economy stimulation from me, that's fo sho.

>>30624976
I'd argue that I'm not the one holding up getting it done. I bought it and a buddy at work said he would do it right away and has been flakey and I keep reserving doing it myself in hope he will follow through
